Poem relating to the 2007/2008 post election violence in Kenya

2.  Writing poems is a part time activity I enjoy
doing.
 This is an activity I do to utilise my creativity
and express myself.
 In my personal life I use poems as a leisure
activity ,a form of self expression and a
stress reliever.
 Writing poems is useful in my professional life
as it helps me develop my creativity which
comes handy in my professional work. It is
also a great way to manage stress

3.  This poem I wrote in the context of the
violence that struck kenya after the 2007
elections.
 The poem is also relevant to everyday
life challenges that we face

4. Yeah I guess the weatherman was Was it not sunny just seconds before?
right I thought I saw the sun rays dance in
It rained a storm! the puddle?
Were the weatherman words a songin
The storm was a full grown storm the distance?
And in character came so suddenly, To be hear but not to listen?
And Uninvited!
The day of the storm
On the day of the storm, Poured not showered,
Seconds were hours, Roared not whistled
Hours were days, Put me on my knees
The day was a season! I through id never get up
Poor me I forgot to close the windows, As suddenly as it came
I had just taken my clothes out to dry, It went,
I was still counting on a good hair day! I guess the sages were right
The only thing that is constant is
change

5. The day after the storm , Well yeah I guess the
My stiff joints became fluid weatherman was right,
Off my knees I got up, But so were the sages!
And watched the sun’s
tender rays by the
window
The day after the storm , ~END~
I chartered my long path
home
From the storm to the
beautiful day out
