Recently, I started using standard set of "principles" to educate people "how we need to behave in order to collaborate on design". This helps me tremendously to establish myself as a broker of ideas and establish the common rules. By establishing these notions, I help team understand why it is important for them to share their opinions and why not to take it personally when consensus in not reached on a topic such as "design".
