1. Introduction to Internship
Internship program is an initial building block in the establishment
of strong career, related to the respective field.
Internships help build work profile by giving students visible work
experience.
As it is an initial stage in the building block of the career
It doesn't only give the practical knowledge about the work but also
experienced about the working habit and its hierarchy.
2. Objective
To understand the networking structure of an Internet Service
Provider.
To deal with technical difficulties that occurs in the
organization.
To experience the practical working implementation and
structure of the organization.
To understand the various technical issues that occurs at
client’s end and to know how to tackle them in real time

3. Organization Selection
World link is the largest ISP and chosen best among various
ISPs presented in the country.
Founded in September 1995 with the aim of providing
Internet and IT services by its present Chairman and
Managing Director, Dileep Agrawal.
Worldlink is providing the wide range of Cable
Internet/Intranet, Fiber Connection and IPTV services in the
inside and outside the valley.

5. Roles and Responsibilities
To monitor the access networks and metro networks and inform
the concerned team for maintenance, if any damage occurred
physically.
To understand the issues at client’s end on the basis of service
used and verify whether it is logical issue or physical. The
troubleshot steps are then taken according to type of network, if
the issue is logical, otherwise inform the concerned team for
maintenance.
To provide phone support, face to face support and sometimes
field support according to the requirement of the problem.
To configure devices used in the network at both company and
client’s end.
To verify the in-house software issue and consult with
concerned team.

8. Implementation of system and
environment
E-bill
E-Bill is a website for viewing details about the
customers. By using this website, the support staff can update the
customer’s details such as name, address and phone number. They
can also check the connection log and internet usage of the
customer.
E-Support
It helps to register a client’s complaint, issue a ticket for
troubleshoot or new installation and view the pending tickets of
the connections that needs further diagnosing.

FTTH
This page also allows to add a client to the fiber optics
network. The details including the MAC address of ONU device,
the splitter number, details of the fiber used and much more can
be updated using the FTTH webpage.
Task Ticketing (TT)
The TT webpage allows to reassign those tasks that
could not be solved by L1 team to the respective departments. It
allows a L1 staff to issue a task ticket, view pending tickets and
add comments to the tickets.
SMS Cast
SMS CAST is a webpage for maintaining employees’
contact details. One can search for the email address, phone
number or extension of a particular employee using this webpage.

and Network Operation Department of Worldlink.
This internship program provided this intern with the
chance to implement the theoretical knowledge into the
practical way of performing the work and working in the
real-time environment.
This program has enhanced the skill and enthusiasm of
this intern to be known to the business environments and
to learn from different aspects of working mechanisms of
the organization.
