This is a presentation I am presenting to a computer science class, highlighting how to get involved in open source, and the steps I took to get me to where I am.
6. A Brief History
• March 31, 1998 @ NetScape
• 10,000 people payed for a full page ad in the NY Times in
2004 - the day Firefox 1.0 launched
• Has contributors on every continent... And yes, Antarctica.
• In 2008, 8,002,530 people downloaded and set a Guinness
world record for most downloads in 24 hours.
• 2013 marked the launch of Firefox OS and their 15th
anniversary
