Equipment upgrades are being done to accommodate the new technology. Some channels have returned and the rest are expected back within a couple weeks

CABLE TELEVISION UPDATE
There have been disruptions to our c able servic e
c aused by c hannel provid ers transiting from
mpeg 2 to mpeg 4 tec hnology.
This has required us to upgrade our equipment, whic h we
are d oing just as soon as it purc hased and arrives in town.
Channels are slowly returning as we migrate to this new
tec hnology and we antic ipate things being ba c k to
normal in the next c ouple of weeks. We do, however,
antic ipate some c able pac kages c hanging in the future
depend ing on c hannel availability.
The City will provide a further upd ate on
September 6th c onc erning the nature of the issues and
the work being c ompleted to rec tify the situation.
We apologize for the inc onvenienc e and d isc omfort
c aused by the disruption and apprec iate your patienc e
and c oopera tion while we work to resolve the issues.

Council
The Dawson District Renewable Resource Council is a council
formed under the Umbrella Final Agreement. In keeping with
section 16.1.1.2 of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch’in Final Agreement, our
mandate is “to preserve and enhance the renewable resource
economy”. Public input is very important to the Council and you are
welcome to drop in at our office in Madame Trembley’s, 3rd & King, or
approach any of the following members with concerns you might
have.
