2. Why do kids drink it?
• Their friends are doing it, so we should to
• Commercials make it look okay, and it looks
fun because people act dumb
• We’re stressed, we want something to keep us
off edge
3. Is it really that “fun”
• Seeing others acting different than
usual, drawling on someone’s face when they
pass out. This may all seem fun, but is it?
• When people pass out from drinking to much
alcohol, its because they have alcohol
poisoning
• When this happens, it can possibly cause brain
damage, and in extreme cases, death
4. Is it really that “fun”
• The only thing “fun” about that is for the
sober friends to draw on someone.
• Drinking to much to a point where you’re
delirious can cause low sodium levels, low
potassium levels, low phosphorus, and low
magnesium levels.
• Although this doesn’t sound too bad, it can
result in severe vomiting, and long term
effects inside your body!
5. Drinking while pregnant
• Anything the mother drinks, the baby is
drinking to
• This can cause Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS)
• FAS has the same effects as mental
retardation, down syndrome, spina bifida, etc.
• Can also have facial deformities and growth
development problems.
• Would you really want to give an unborn child
alcohol?
6. Drinking altering your mind
• When you’re still alert while
drinking, you think you’re
perfectly fine and not drunk at
all.
• You wont feel drunk until you
have already consumed to
much alcohol
• Because of this, many teens
and young adults attempt to
drive drunk – Here are a few
pictures to show you what
could happen when you try this
7. Statistics
• Been drunk: in the past 30 days
• Binge drinking: 5 or more drinks in the last two weeks
8. High School Statistics
• 21 out of 30 high school students say they
have drank alcohol on more than one occasion
• 12 out of 21 high school students asked say
they started in high school. That means 9
students asked started in middle school.

16. Personal Experience
While at a bonfire, everyone was drinking. I didn’t want to be the
only one not drinking, so I had a small amount of alcohol. I felt
perfectly fine and figured since I only had a small amount, I would
be okay to drive. Before I got out of my friends driveway, I had
already hit a trash can and backed into a tree going faster than
normal when you back up. Thankfully for me, I realized I was okay
without getting on any major roads. This usually doesn’t happen
for most, and people find out they’re not okay to drive when its
already to late.
17. Car accidents
• Although the pictures shown may not have all
been drivers under the influence, any of those
accidents can happen at any time.
• ¼ calls that the Boothwyn fire company gets is
for an car accident.
• They happen a lot more than people
think, and can happen at any time.
18. Drinking as a minor
• Although your friends may be drinking, say
no!
• There are plenty of fun things to do for a lot
less money besides drinking.
• Teens, when having a party, spend anywhere
from $40-$100 just for alcohol.
19. Underage drinking
• If caught, you will be arrested and sent to jail
for the night.
• After spending the night in jail, you will get a
fine, and have to appear in court.
• Most kids will have to 50+ hours of
community service
• Underage drinking will be put on your criminal
record, and usually will not be expunged when
you turn 18
20. Underage drinking
• If you have an underage drinking charge, the
jobs you can get are very limited!
• You will never be able to become a
doctor, nurse, teacher, or get any profession in
law enforcement.
• Many colleges will not accept you if you have
an underage drinking charge.
21. Is it really worth it?
• If caught, you wont be able to get many jobs
that are out there.
• You could be causing brain damage, memory
loss, and other serious medical conditions that
will have long term effects on your life.
• You spend an insane amount of money to
possible get caught and harm your body.
• It just isn't as fun as people make it seem.
