13. Dear Civic Official,
We know that cities across the United States are facing unprecedented
fiscal challenges in today’s economic climate. However, most civic
leaders are unaware that their own cities are “bleeding” valuable
transient occupancy tax dollars.
In an effort to “band aid” this tax bleed, few political gun slingers have
attempted to address the issue by using legal means. However, without
addressing the root problem this effort has largely proved to be an
unfruitful adventure at the cost of taxpayer dollars.
We, the Rezzline team, believe the real solution lies within the online
reservations business model itself. We believe we have designed a
better model that is fair to the city, the traveler, as well as the hotel
property owner. We are seeking cooperation from the hospitality
community and civic government to make better decisions and
circumvent this problem.
