Man’s sin was nothing short of open rebellion against God. By the time of Noah, the sinfulness of humanity had reached a point where man’s “every intention” was to do evil. God regretted having created mankind. He was prepared to eradicate humanity, but then something amazing happened. “Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.” God commissioned Noah to build an ark as a means of saving a remnant of humanity and the animals He created. The doors were shut, and it rained upon the earth for 40 days and 40 nights until all, but the family of Noah was gone. By the time of Jesus, we see that evil has grown again, becoming more the rule than the exception. Mankind needed a further and final remedy for our evil intentions and actions. But that remedy could not be a flood, for God had promised that he would never do so and sealed that promise with the sign of the rainbow. So, God sent Jesus to be a redeemer, the Ark of our Salvation.
4. First Point
In the midst of great
evil, God seeks those
who seek His favor.
5. Genesis 6
5 The LORD saw that the wickedness
of man was great in the earth, and
that every intention of the thoughts
of his heart was only evil
continually. 6 And the LORD regretted
that he had made man on the earth,
and it grieved him to his heart.

10. Matthew 12
34 You brood of vipers! How can you
speak good, when you are evil? For
out of the abundance of the heart the
mouth speaks. 35 The good person out
of his good treasure brings forth good,
and the evil person out of his evil
treasure brings forth evil.
11. John 8
44 You are of your father the devil, and
your will is to do your father's
desires. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and does not stand in the
truth, because there is no truth in
him. When he lies, he speaks out of
his own character, for he is a liar and
the father of lies.
12. Genesis 6
7 So the LORD said, “I will blot out
man whom I have created from the
face of the land, man and animals
and creeping things and birds of the
heavens, for I am sorry that I have
made them.” 8 But Noah found favor
in the eyes of the LORD.
13. Genesis 6
8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of
the LORD. 9 These are the
generations of Noah. Noah was
a righteous man, blameless in
his generation. Noah walked
with God. 10 And Noah had three
sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
14. Luke 2
52 And Jesus increased in
wisdom and in stature and
in favor with God and
man.
16. Genesis 6
14 Make yourself an ark of gopher
wood.Make rooms in the ark, and
cover it inside and out with
pitch. 15 This is how you are to
make it… 22 Noah did this; he did all
that God commanded him.
17. Genesis 7
1 Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go
into the ark, you and all your
household, for I have seen that you
are righteous before me in this
generation.
18. Genesis 7
2 Take with you seven pairs of
all clean animals, the male and his
mate, and a pair of the animals
that are not clean, the male and
his mate,
19. Genesis 7
3 and seven pairs of the birds of
the heavens also, male and
female, to keep their offspring
alive on the face of all the earth.
20. Genesis 7
4 For in seven days I will send rain
on the earth forty days and forty
nights, and every living thing that
I have made I will blot out from
the face of the ground.”
21. Genesis 7
5 And Noah did all that
the LORD had
commanded him.
22. Genesis 7
6 Noah was six hundred years old
when the flood of waters came
upon the earth. 7 And Noah and his
sons and his wife and his sons'
wives with him went into the ark to
escape the waters of the flood.
23. Genesis 7
11 In the six hundredth year of
Noah's life, in the second month,
on the seventeenth day of the
month, on that day all
the fountains of the great deep
burst forth, and the windows of the
heavens were opened.
24. Genesis 7
12 And rain fell upon the earth forty
days and forty nights. 13 On the very
same day Noah and his sons, Shem
and Ham and Japheth, and Noah's
wife and the three wives of his sons
with them entered the ark,
25. Genesis 7
14 they and every beast, according
to its kind, and all the livestock
according to their kinds, and every
creeping thing that creeps on the
earth, according to its kind, and
every bird, according to its kind,
every winged creature.
26. Genesis 7
15 They went into the ark with
Noah, two and two of all flesh in
which there was the breath of
life. 16 And those that entered, male
and female of all flesh, went in as
God had commanded him. And
the LORD shut him in.
30. Genesis 7
16 And those that entered, male and
female of all flesh, went in as God
had commanded him. And
the LORD shut him in.
31. Matthew 24
36 “But concerning that day and
hour no one knows, not even the
angels of heaven, nor the Son, but
the Father only. 37 For as were the
days of Noah, so will be the coming
of the Son of Man.
32. 38 For as in those days before the
flood they were eating and
drinking, marrying and giving in
marriage, until the day when Noah
entered the ark, 39 and they were
unaware until the flood came and
swept them all away, so will be the
coming of the Son of Man.
33. Luke 13
24 “Strive to enter through the
narrow door. For many, I tell you,
will seek to enter and will not be
able.
34. 25 When once the master of the
house has risen and shut the door,
and you begin to stand outside and
to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord,
open to us,’ then he will answer
you, ‘I do not know where you
come from.’
35. 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We
ate and drank in your presence,
and you taught in our streets.’
27 But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not
know where you come from.
Depart from me, all you workers of
evil!’
36. 28 In that place there will be
weeping and gnashing of teeth,
when you see Abraham and Isaac
and Jacob and all the prophets in
the kingdom of God but you
yourselves cast out.
37. 29 And people will come from east
and west, and from north and
south, and recline at table in the
kingdom of God. 30 And behold,
some are last who will be first, and
some are first who will be last.”

These are the faces of the 17 victims of the Parkland FL School Shooting
Comment on YouTube channel last year
I’m going to be a professional school shooter.
In a twitter tweet filled with expletives, Sarah Chadwick, a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, responded to President Trump’s offer of prayer and concern. Here is a version of those comments without the f-bombs and other profanities:
“Multiple of my classmates are dead, Do something instead of sending prayers. Prayers won’t fix this. But gun control will prevent it from happening again.”
Another American high school has been turned into a killing field. And the nation wonders why.
Well, I’m going to answer that question for you. And the answer may leave you a bit unsettled. You see – I believe there is a God — but I also believe there is a Devil. And I see his hand at work here.
We’ve raised a generation to believe that truth is relative – that there is no right or wrong.
And the Devil smiled.
They kicked God out of public schools – banned Bibles and prayer.
And the Devil smiled.
We’ve destroyed the traditional family – broken homes raising broken kids
And the Devil smiled.
There are no consequences for bad behavior – no personal responsibility.
And the Devil smiled.
Our movies and music and games glorify violence and gore. Marriage vows poisoned by pornography.
And the Devil smiled.
What happened in Parkland, Florida is about wickedness – a war with the forces of darkness – good versus evil.
There is no doubt our land is wounded, her people suffering. But we have turned our backs on the One who promised to heal our Land.
The politicians and pundits would have you believe this is not about God, it’s not about righteousness. They would have you believe it’s about politics and mental illness and gun control.
And the Devil smiled.

Second Point
When God brings judgment, He also provides an ark of salvation.
Genesis 6
14 Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch. 15 This is how you are to make it… 22 Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.
Genesis 7

“A door means absolutely nothing, unless you use it.”
John 10
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
There were two kinds of sheepfolds or pens. One kind was a public sheepfold found in the cities and villages. It would be large enough to hold several flocks of sheep. This sheep pen would be in the care of a porter or doorkeeper, whose duty it was to guard the door to the sheep pen during the night and to admit the shepherds in the morning. The shepherds would call their sheep, each of which knew its own shepherd’s voice, and would lead them out to pasture. The second kind of sheep pen was in the countryside, where the shepherds would keep their flocks in good weather. This type of sheep pen was nothing more than a rough circle of rocks piled into a wall with a small open space to enter. Through it the shepherd would drive the sheep at nightfall. Since there was no gate to close—just an opening—the shepherd would keep the sheep in and wild animals out by lying across the opening. He would sleep there, in this case literally becoming the door to the sheep.
Third Point
There is one door to the ark of salvation, but it has two sides.
Genesis 7
16 And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the Lord shut him in.
In Genesis, Moses emphasizes the inside of the door. The LORD shut Noah and his family in. The ark was the one safe place to be when the rain began to fall for 40 days and 40 nights.
Matthew 24
36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Luke 13
24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
25 When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’
