NIMCJ Youth club visits street kids
Ahmedabad : 4th day of Ganesh Utsav organized by NIMCJ Youth Club turned
out to be a very memorable event. Aarti was done by national vice president
of PRSI, Mr. Unmesh Dixit. The institute gave the five day festival a new
social angle by visiting HELP LINE, an NGO which has been working towards
educating street and slum kids.
HELP LINE is run by Mr. Mahesh Desai, who is a small scale businessman.
This organization has the motto of providing free education to tribal and
poor children residing in Adarshnagar Slum. The organization at present
caters to the educational needs of 50 students. Students of NIMCJ spent a
very pleasant time with the kids by playing with them and remembering
their childhood.
Street games like Galli cricket, Dodge Ball and Tameto re tameto were re-
lived by the students of NIMCJ. HELP LINE has a mission of nurturing the
future of the street kids, with a mission statement of “Zero to Hero”. The
NGO has a hostel as well where kids from slum areas are accommodated
and educated in Municipality school.
Mr. Desai appealed everyone to be a part of the organization. An exhibition
is going to be held by the NGO on 4th November, 2012 , which will comprise
of articles made by the kids of the organization.
