1. SOIL

2. •Soil is called the upper most part of the earth.
Almost every where on land there is soil.
•Soil is very important because many living things
use it as a supply of nutrients (those things which
provides energy).
•Soil is also used to support the plant by holding
their roots and by providing nutrients.

3. What soil is made of?
Soil is made up of four things:
•Water
•Air
•Particles of minerals
•Organic matters (dead animals or plants).
Minerals come from the broken rocks found under
the ground or land.

4. ANIMALS LIVE IN SOIL
Small animals, such as rats , moles,
rabbits and snakes make their homes in
the soil. Animals such as earthworms,
beetles, ants also live in the soil.

6. Types of soil
•Squeeze some soil between your fingers. Is it
crumbly, soft or sticky? The texture of soil depends
upon the size of its particles.
