13. FOAL TIPS OF THE DAY
1. Vaccinate Mares 4-6m pre-foaling with her yearly boosters COLOSTRUM
1. Passive Transfer of Antibodies (IgGs) to FOAL
2. NI Screen - Neonatal Isoerythrolysis
1. ABs in milk coat RBCs, foal clears as foreign-->No O2
2. 2 weeks out, Due date, +2 weeks
3. Colostrum Refractometer (www.arssales.com)
1. Measures colostrum quality
2. Supplement if low with stored frozen colostrum via bottle or NGT(VET!!)
1. Supplement if ~18-19
4. Have a vet perform a new foal exam and check an IgG level
