21. Text 3
In many parts of the world, the year
is divided into four seasons: spring,
summer, fall, and winter. Each season
lasts about three months and brings
changes in temperature and weather.
During spring, the days are usually
warm.
22. The Equator divides the world into two
hemispheres, the Northern Hemisphere
and the Southern Hemisphere. The
seasons do not occur at the same time in
the Northern Hemisphere as they do in the
Southern Hemisphere. In summer, the
days are hotter and the nights are warm. In
fall, days become cooler and in winter it is
cold.
23. When it is summer in the
Northern Hemisphere, it is winter in
the Southern Hemisphere. When it is
fall in the Northern Hemisphere, it is
spring in the Southern Hemisphere.
