Apple contain high amount of iron.
Oxidation :when iron reacts with oxygen
in air it turns its colour .
Also apple contain fibers but it has
nothing to do with the change in colour .
Apples of different colours do the same
change in colour.
4. When the apple is exposed to air its color
changes as oxygen in air reacts with the
iron it has and this is called oxidation.

Acids can protect the apples from
changing its colour.
Examples for acids :lemon and vinegar.
Examples for bases : milk of magnesia
and soda.

The apples in lemon only are the ones
who did not change in color ,even the
ones in vinegar changes it’s color.
So ,it has nothing to do with acid and may
be there is another thing in lemon which
protects the apple
