HOW TO CLEAN KITCHEN CABINETS
1 FIND AN APPROPRIATE CLEANER
There are many cleaners to settle on from, so it's essential to understand your options.
Everyday home items like dish soap, bicarbonate of soda and vinegar are often want to
create a natural cleaner that won't be as harsh on your kitchen cabinets. If you've got a
sticky cleanup or a particular sort of wood, many economic cleaners at your local shop will
be more beneficial. We used essential household ingredients to make our cleaners, but
choosing a product depends on your cabinetry.
Tip: Confirm you notice, test whatever product you opt on during a hidden place, just in case
there's an adverse reaction.
2 USE the right SUPPLIES
There are many cleaning supplies available to you, but sometimes the fundamentals work
best. All you would like is your cleaner of choice, a sponge, an old toothbrush and a few
cleaning cloths or rags. You're also welcome to use your favourite scrubber, but be mindful
of the bristle strength so it doesn't scratch the cupboard surface.
Tip: If you've got sensitive hands, try investing in a pair of reusable cleaning gloves to avoid
dryness or rashes.
3 CLEAN OUT the cupboards
Begin with a fresh start. Remove all the things from your cabinets and place them on a
counter or table nearby. Toss anything that's expired or nearly empty. If any bags or boxes
are worn and have holes, pour the contents into jars and label them. This may prevent any
more protracted mess.
Tip: Keep an inventory of the things you throw away, so next time you're at the grocery, you
remember what to exchange.
4 WIPE the inside
Fill a spring bottle with oil-cutting detergent or dish soap and water. Spray down the inside of
the cupboard and wipe with a cloth or sponge. Make the consistency of the mixture one part
detergent and two parts water for the most specific results.
Tip: Don't spray an excessive amount of cleaner on the surface or interior of your cabinets.
You would like to avoid letting your cabinets get too damp, so remember that touch goes an
extended way.
5 GET THE TRICKY SPOTS
When it involves the kitchen, sticky situations are inevitable. Any residue that's still leftover
after the first cleaning is often attacked with a more robust cleaner. For natural wood
cabinets, try creating a mix of bicarbonate of soda and vegetable or copra oil (1 part oil, two
parts baking soda). This may remove grease and lift the dirt, leaving the cupboard good as
new. If you've got painted wood cabinets, a mix of white vinegar and water (1 part vinegar, 1
part water) will remove the grime without damaging the paint.
Tip: Be gentle when scrubbing the tough spots. You don't want to go away with any
scratches.
6 WIPE DOWNthe outside
Using the essential cleaning solution, spray the outside of the cupboards. Wipe them down
with a cloth or sponge. Use more pressure on the dirtier spots.
Tip: Don't forget to scrub the edges of the cupboards, even in tough spots like next to the
refrigerator or wall. the sides can accumulate a fair amount of debris and are often forgotten.
7 CLEAN round the HARDWARE
Your cabinets get opened and closed repeatedly throughout the day. the world around the
handles can easily be the dirtiest. Reach this difficult spot by employing a more robust
cleaner and a toothbrush.
Tip: If you're employing a store-bought cleaner, check the label to ensure it'll not stain the
hardware.
8 FINAL WIPE DOWN
When you are done, and therefore the cabinet is looking spotless, give the inside and
exterior one last time over with a damp cloth. the material will devour any leftover cleaner
and any last specks of dirt or dust.
Tip: confirm the material is clean. Check the part that's in touch with the shelves after a
couple of wipes. If it's dirty, you'll find yourself just moving the dirt around or scratching the
wood.
9 leave DRY TIME
It's essential to attend the additional 10-20 minutes and let your cabinets dry to stop any
mould or rust from growing in damp spots. If you're ready to remove the shelves, place them
within the sunshine for a quicker dry.
Tip: Leave the doors open; therefore, the interior of the cupboards get good airflow and may
dry faster.
10 ORGANIZE YOUR CABINETS
Since all of your kitchen supplies are on your countertops, this is often the right time to
arrange your kitchen cabinets before returning the things to their proper place. As you are
doing this, wipe off any jars or dishes with a damp cloth. This is often to make sure that they
don't have any residue which will dirty your cabinets.
Tip: If you were unhappy with the way you had organized your cabinets previously, this is
often some time to form a change.
