2. COMMUNICATIONS AT HOME
• Communication had OPENED
many doors, and had CLOSED
many doors.
• Communication can make the
impossible possible and the
possible impossible.
• In the course of communication,
learn to tolerate insults from your
spouse & people (MAT.15:24-28).

3. COMMUNICATIONS AT HOME
• Many of us underrate the power of
prayers before communicating
physically with our spouse or
children.
• During communication, we should
be careful not to cause injury in
our spouse or other people.
• Sharp communication is
sometimes needed to correct or
help some people.

4. COMMUNICATIONS AT HOME
• When our children need to be
corrected with sharp
communication, it is dangerous to
shy away from it.
• Many Christian parents today
overlook their children’s ungodly
habits without any sharp rebuke
(communication); we should not be
like them.

5. • Titus 1:13(NIV)-:‘…Therefore rebuke
them SHARPLY, so that they may be
sound in the faith…”
• That sharp rebuke from your
pastor/spouse/parent/friend may be
from God.
• Be careful how you respond to it.

6. Tolerance in Communication
• There are some people who do not like
opposing or contrary view either
from their spouses or other people.
• To them, opposing/contrary view
means you are not a submissive wife.
• To them, opposing/contrary view
means you are a bossy husband.

7. Tolerance in Communication
• To them, opposing/contrary view means
you are not supporting their dreams.
• To them, opposing/contrary view means
you are not loyal or that you are proud.
• As such, their spouses or their friends
refrain from telling them the truth in
order to avoid their anger.

• Nabal is such a wicked man that
no one can talk to him (1Sam.25:
2-35)”;
• As parents, as youths or children, U&I
should strive not to be like Nabal.

9. Tolerance in Communication
• Just like it did for Abigail (1Sam.25:2-
35), one contrary opinion from your
spouse can save your home and your
life from danger, if only you can
tolerate.
• Just like it did for Peter (Lk.5:3-5), one
contrary opinion from your spouse
can bring more money to your home if
only you can tolerate.

10. Tolerance in Communication
• Just like it did for the widow (1Kings
17:10-16), One contrary opinion
from your spouse can permanently
save your home from financial worries
if only you can tolerate.

12. Communicating to our children
• Most of the time, if not all the time,
our inactions also communicate,
just like our actions.
• Most of the time, every active and
inactive communication at home is a
teaching to the child in one way or the
other.

• Every teaching at home comes in form
of one communication or the other.
• It is then true to say that teaching and
communication go together.
• Most of the time when you don’t
communicate at home, you are already
communicating at home.

• When you talk a lot at home, you are
communicating (teaching) something;
• When you are too quiet at home, you
are also communicating.

• When you abuse people once in a while
or regularly, you are communicating

• When you overreact in all home issues,
you are already communicating (teaching)

and you oppose him/her before the
children, you are communicating

Q: In school, when the teacher corrects
your child and you oppose the teacher in
presence of the child, are you
communicating something to the child ?

communicating (teaching) something;
• When you are stingy to the children
themselves, you are communicating
(teaching) something to them.

Q: When you HAVE to borrow huge
money to give your child good
education, and the child is aware of it,

him/her?
Q: When you talk anyhow to your
spouse b4 your child, are you
communicating something to the child?

• Most of the time when you don’t
communicate something good to your
child, you are already communicating
something else.
• Most of the time when you don’t teach
the children at home, you are already
teaching something else.

how to respect people, you are already
teaching him/her how to disrespect.
• If you don’t communicate to your child
godly characters, automatically you
are already teaching him/her ungodly
characters.

the HABIT of praying, you have
already started teaching him/her
something else (?).

the HABIT of personal bible study,
you have already started teaching
him/her something else (?).

the habit of Quiet Time With God,
you are automatically teaching him/her
how to easily mistake the voice of
God for the voice of Eli.
• You are teaching him/her how to be a
Stranger to the voice of God.

• You are automatically teaching him/her
how to easily mistake a mere thought
in the mind for the voice of God (just
like Samuel).
• He/she will later find it difficult to be
led of God in crucial matters of life
including who to marry.

24. If U don’t teach, U are teaching
• At every valley of decision in life,
she/he easily mistakes a ‘mere feeling’
for the voice of God;
• Because he/she was wrongly
communicated in this aspect.
• At every valley of decision in life,
she/he easily mistakes the desires of
his/her flesh for the voice of God.

• Teach your child THE WAY he should
go and when he grows up he will not
depart therefrom (Prov. 22:6).
• If you don’t communicate to your child
The Way he/she should go, you have
already started teaching him/her
something else (?).

• As far God is concerned, there are two
types of ways:
THE WAY and Other ways.

• Prov.12:28-: In the way of righteousness,
there is LIFE, and in its pathway there is
no death.
• This means the road-path of THE WAY
is decorated with LIFE; and there is no
single death in its pathway.
