We were prompted to design two products for our engineering project, with two persons in charge for each product, which are the bearing puller and valve grinder.<br />Brainstorming<br />Since the last meeting, we decided to make a bearing puller which has a new feature instead of the other commercial bearing puller. We chose to make an internal bearing puller.we designed the product using 3D drawing software which is Solidworks. It took about a month to finish the design.<br />Survey<br />Before designing a new product, we have made some survey related to our product by browsing the internet, and look for the tool being used in FKMP’s automotive lab. Basically there are variety sizes of bearing, depending on application. Most bearing pullers are made to clamp the outside of the bearing instead of pulling it out through inside of the opening. We are planning to fabricate it by using the facilities in the fabrication lab starting this week.<br />
