1. Cynthia
Kenyon
Cynthia Kenyon "Experiments that hint of longer lives"
Studies the influence that genetics have on age-related diseases (from cancer to heart
failure) in living things. By studying aging, Kenyon believes that she and other scientists
(many of whom have successfully duplicated her experiments) will be able to pinpoint the
molecules responsible for the onset of age-related diseases in people and prevent them.
She’s co-founded a drug-development company called Elixir Pharmaceuticals to do just
that.
2. he caught our attention by asking the audience about a dream of living
nger and to explain something we thought was never possible.
Have you ever wanted to stay young a little bit longer? and put off aging?
his is a dream of the ages, however, scientists have long thought this was
ever going to be possible. They thought you just "wear out", there's nothing
ou can do about it king of like an old shoe."
3. • She kept everyone interested throwing jokes or references to
common things that would make sense to everybody in the
audience. "When its about collage student age", when talking
about a worm thats young or she'd say "let's say you're a 30
year-old guy or in your 30s and you're a bachelor and you're
dating people. and you meet someone you really like, you get
to know her. and you're in a restaurant, and you say, "well
how old are you?" she says "i'm 60."(shocked face)".
4. I give
her a 3
• She didn't have a confident voice, paused a lot, and
wasn't easy to understand on everything she is talking
about.
• She could of had more practice speeches so that she
wouldn't have paused as often. and she could of
explained things better to make everyone understand
her more and better/more Comparisons.
5. • She used Garr Reynolds tip by using support
drawings that are poorly drawn but simple and
funny. She also uses high quality images to help
better explain what she is talking about.
6. • I learned that making
stores and jokes
along the way of
what your trying to
explain is a very good
way to catch (and
keep) the audiences
attention.
• I also learned that
visuals that are
simple and clean are
extremely helpful on
explaining what your
trying to say.
7. • Compare:
• Cynthia Kenyon talks about improving life's and make
them live/healthier longer.
• Ken Robinson is similar in a way that he wants to better
are education to improve are creative and overall life.
8. • Contrast:
• Cynthia Kenyon showed a large amount of visuals to help you
understand everything she is talking about, but she didn't give you
as many stories.
• Ken Robinson had many stories about what he has seen and
everything about education while he lacked the visual that would
better support what he is talking about.
9. • Tip to keep in mind is: keep a confident
look and voice and try to put good visuals
and jokes into what your talking about.
