Potential Uses
• Modules

• Work-on-campus jobs
• Entrepreneurship
• Networking
1. Modules
Idea
The module’s leaders could form a project to find assistants with specific
skills to support their researches.
Example
The director of Central Banking module wants to do the academic
research in order to improve his teaching performance and academic
content. He could set up this kind of project to find the talented assistants
who interested in his project through the Crowd skills.
2. Courses
Idea
The director of the business school or other schools could build the
projects to find more professional people like professors or doctors to
set up new modules.
Example
If the directors of the business school want to set up a new module like
Financial Management, they could find the professors and management
role employees even from others universities by using this Crowdskills.
3. Across Our University
Ideas
a.The student union societies might use this Crowdskills to create projects to
attract more students to join in or to run the societies.
b.Postgraduates might use Crowdskills to find companies for their dissertation
topics, which will agree to share their data, in a very short time period.
Examples
a.The chess society might use this platform to increase No. of participants in the
matches against other universities.
b.University should have a list of companies and partners that will most likely
collaborate with students in case they need particular information to complete
their dissertation or course work.
4. Work on campus
Idea
Every semester PolyU will post jobs advertisement in each department. Crowd
skills can be a channel for posting online all the work-on-campus jobs for PolyU
students.
Example
ISE general office may need assistants for administration work during a
semester. The department can post this job on Crowdskills with details about
the job requirements. Students might apply online for this job through Crowd
skills.
5. Entrepreneurship
Idea
Many students may have the thought of starting their own business. The crowd
skills platform can help them find same passion members and experienced
professors as mentors to build a startup, and also investors for obtaining
donation.
Example
Students can post a presentation to share their ideas to acquire partners and
donation. Also, they can gain advice from professors.
6. Networking
Idea
There are many alumni in a university and most of them would be willing to help
and share their experience with their juniors. PolyU can promote this Crowd
skills platform among alumni’s.
Example
Alumni’s can find people who studied their degree and make useful networking
connections for academic projects and graduate schemes.
Conclusion
Opportunity: to promote and support student entrepreneurship by providing
financial and expertise assistance as well as foster social network between
people with different talents.
Tension: numerous competitors that also provide similar services and those
platforms are well established with large registered users pool.
Suggestions: Our team has pointed several issues of Crowdskills platform and
how the platform can be utilized in order to attract more potential users to
optimize the usage of this platform.
Thank you for your attention.
