1st person:
Harry: I’m sure you’re aware of Oldham Athletics’ fantastic recent cup run; do you think it has
benefitted the town as a whole in some way?
Person: I do think it has benefitted the town I think most of the people in Oldham feel proud to be
proud of; proud to support a team whether they’re football fans or not, it’s nice to all come together
and support something that’s done well.
Are you upset that they are no longer in the running or are you proud of the club no matter the fact
they’re out of the cup?
Person: Errm … I’m proud of the club anyway I think they have done really well to get as far as they
have done it would have been really nice to get all the way, but never mind they have done their
best.
2nd person
Harry: I’m sure you’re aware of Oldham Athletics’ fantastic recent cup run; do you think it has
benefited the town as a whole in some way?
Person: Errrm, well because they’re not in it anymore I don’t really think it has benefitted them as
much as it could’ve done if they had stayed in the competition.
Harry: Are you upset that they are no longer in the running or are you proud of the club no matter
that they are out of the cup?
Person: To be honest I’m not really that interested in football so it doesn’t really affect me but I’m
sure that people would be proud.
3rd person
Harry: I’m sure you’re aware of Oldham Athletics’ fantastic recent cup run; do you think it has
benefited the town as a whole in some way?
Person: Oooh massively errrm, everyone has come together as a community I think errr..even non
Oldham fans still supported us to go all the way, unfortunately it ended in heartbreak.
Harry: Are you upset that they are no longer in the running or are you proud of the club no matter
that they are out of the cup?

2. Person: Oh of course I am proud how far we got we beat two professional teams errm Liverpool that
was a massive win and, come close to beating Everton, couldn’t have done any better the lads.
4th person:

benefited the town as a whole in some way?
Person: Yeah I think that … it will have drawn in … people … well people will have come to the
matches and they will have stayed in the area for a while after the match.
Harry: Are you upset that they are no longer in the running or are you proud of the club no matter
that they are out of the cup?
I’m just happy that they got as far as they did but I think they just got..aserrm … I think they just got
as far as they could.
5th Person:

Person: I think it has benefitted the town but, I think it will have been forgotten about in a few
months.

Person: I’m not really an Oldham fan so, I’m not too interested.
