 Conceptualisation, R&D, and testing of new financing mechanisms and models

5. SA REGULATORY RESEARCH OVERVIEW
 Supported by the National Treasury and South African Revenue
Services (SARS) in South Africa
 Funded by the British High Commission and the United States
Agency for International Development (USAID)
 Research objectives:
To identify and explore potential features for an alternative
corporate, financial, legal and taxation policy and regulatory
framework for defined SMEs and high impact businesses in South
Africa
To develop a white paper for submission and consideration by
National government by March 2013

7. THE ROLE OF THE TASK FORCE
 Provide insight into the global corporate structures available to
social enterprises
 Provide feedback on the research and analysis of the
implementation feasibility of similar structures in South Africa

 Advocate for the needs of social enterprises and how these can be
addressed through appropriate corporate structures
 Comment on key issues affecting the design and application of
dedicated corporate structures for South African social enterprises
