Persuasive Speech On Abortion
Why are you killing an innocent child? What did they ever do to deserve this? Why are thousands
of innocent children killed every day? We ask ourselves these questions every time we hear of an
abortion, murder, or abuse. But do we say it when we hear a friend, sibling, or someone else has
an abortion? Isn't this the same thing, the killing or abuse of a child? Many people believe this isn't
because they are "tissue" but this is incorrect. "Don't tell me these are not children a heart beat
proves that. So does a 4–d ultrasound. So do I. And so does the fact that they are selling human
organs for profit." –Gianna Jessen She was born with 90% of her body covered in burns, ALIVE. She

They tell us their tissue, but if their tissue how do their bones break in utero? How can part of
their brain be missing? How can they have a tumor if they are just tissue? Gianna saw her
biological mother at an event and forgave her for her actions. She isn't angry at her mother for trying
to kill her. Abortion does not make you unpregnant it just makes you a mother of a dead child.
"Abortion has never been about "choice" It's about escaping the consequences of your choices by
taking away the "choices" of the most innocent around us" –unknown This is the truest statement
ever. We don't abort babies just because we feel like it. We abort them because they were a
"mistake", or we didn't want them. These precious children aren't mistakes they are miracles. "We
often hear that if planned parenthood is defunded their would be a health crisis among women
without their services they provide. This is absolutely false, pregnancy resource centers are located
nationwide for an option for women in a crisis" Gianna Jessen said this. If we stop sending 50
million of our tax dollars to planned parenthood, millions of children will be saved. Planned
parenthood doesn't help families, but destroys them. There is proof of this.
Gianna doesn't see her cerebral Palsy as a disgrace, but as a blessing. "You continuously use the
argument that if the baby is disabled, we need to terminate the pregnancy, as if you can determine

Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe it is 100%
wrong and even consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion is; "The termination of
pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable
of normal growth." These pro–life believers do not support the idea of abortion and believe it should
be illegal. Many of these supporters do not know that if abortion were illegal they would still be
performed, unfortunately by an uneducated staff. Over 70 thousand maternal deaths occur every
year because of unsafe abortions. These women die, so the idea of supporting pro–life is
contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro–choice. Pro–choice...show more content...
The choice of her keeping the child would result in her getting kicked out of her home, she'd be
finically unable to support the baby, and she would lose her education. With abortion she would not
have to deal with these issues, though she would have to deal with the emotional aspect of deciding
to terminate the pregnancy. Pro–choice supports the idea she would learn from her mistake and that
ultimately it was her choice to do what she wished with her body. Even though these "Pro Life
supporters" think giving up your child for adoption is a better choice than an abortion, but those
children would be forced to live in an unfit foster home till they age out of the system. After they
turn 18 they are out on the streets what makes the women who would rather just have an abortion
have to think about when they know their child is in a foster home and probably no better off
than where they would be if she would have just kept it? You have to deal with the emotional
circumstances after an abortion for a while but you have to deal with not knowing what the child
you gave up has to go through on a daily basis everyday of your life is a lot harder than the
emotional toll of an abortion Even though many people practice pro–life because of their religion, it
may be surprising to learn that catholic women are 29% more likely to get an abortion than
Protestant women, though they are as likely as all women to do

Thesis: If women had the necessary information and means to carry out full–term pregnancies, raise
their children in safe comfortable environments, and have safe abortions, then the controversy over
abortion would cease. The solutions to reducing abortion, or at least making it safer for women, are
better leadership in Congress and commitment to women's health, providing up–to–date sex
education along with supporting pregnancy assistance programs.
"No matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies,
reduce the need for abortion, and support women and families in the choices they make. To
accomplish these goals, we must work to find common ground to expand access to affordable
contraception, accurate health information, and preventative services." (Montopoli)
Women with low income in the US have been at the mercy of this corrupt government since
abortion has been legally recognized. The solution to decrease abortions should not reflect
increasing the cost of unnecessary clinic regulations along with making waiting periods a
requirement, while decreasing the number of doctors available for abortions. This only results in
grave injuries and infertility from unsafe at home abortions. Public funding and assistant programs
should no longer be a "privilege" to women who want abortions. It should be a automatic given, like
guns to a redneck or hopes

Abortion in America
For many years this issue of abortion has came out, giving a huge debate about it. Right now, in the
United States abortion is legal but may be restricted by the states. The states have limited degree of
power. Some of the laws passed by some states are the requirement of parental notification for
minors, the term of pregnancy, the abortion risk information given to the patients for the procedure,
etc. Abortion is becoming more pro choice. I wanted to research abortion because I didn't really
know anything about it when we had debates in class.
Should abortion be legal in the United States? Abortion in America should be always legal no
matter the circumstance. Many of you believe that a life is taken away or religion doesn't allow
abortion, but it should always be a choice to women. Those needs, interests, values, beliefs will
lead a women to take the decision. This research should benefit anyone because you will have the
information needed to go pro choice or stay pro life. I am pro choice meaning that any women
should have the right to abort, but that doesn't mean I would abort. I would never abort a baby, but
having the choice there make a difference.
There are two ways to abort a baby. The first one is going to In–Clinic Abortion in where you will
see a medical trained instructor. The instructor will than use a medical instrument that will
suction to remove the baby from your uterus. This procedure 99% of the time. The produce is
long, but very safe. The second one is medication to abort. You take a pill that causes your
pregnancy to end it's like a early miscarriage. This works 98% of the time. 3 in 10 women in the
U.S will have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old. This information is from Planned
Parenthood America. Knowing that abortion is super safe I have no doubt about pro choice.
ProCon.org gave me the laws in abortion and what people believe. In January 22, 1973 Roe v. Wade
declared that abortion is a "Fundamental Right". The supporter identify themselves a pro choice
because abortion is right that shouldn't be limited by the government or religious authority. They
also said that pregnant women would resort in unsafe illegal abortions if there is no legal option.

1 out of every 6 women in America has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her
lifetime. Reports conclude that 5% of these victims become pregnant, and that's in America alone. To
make matters worse, most of these women cannot afford an abortion and have to live with a constant
reminder of the horrible things they've been through. That's why victims of sexual assault should
have free access to an abortion if needed.
First of all, abortion should totally be the choice of the woman, even if she's not been sexually
assaulted. Bringing a life to this earth when you're not ready mentally or financially is extremely
hard and without any help from outsiders it would be nearly impossible to raise a child. Its also
extremely selfish, because your responsibility is not to only bring a child into this world, but the
child needs to be fed, educated and has to have a roof over its head. So when you're agains abortion
(pro–choice), you're basically saying you are pro–birth rather than pro–life.
Also, abortion reduces crime. When we're talking about woman who can't afford an abortion, they
definitely don't have a good enough income to raise a child in a stable home. When they do have
the baby, they will grow up in poverty, and when I'm not saying every child raised in poverty will
become a criminal, but when...show more content...

rights. If there is something that you don't like because your religion doesn't permit it or something,
then that's where you stop involving yourself to interfere with other people's lives that differ to
yours and your religion. People that don't believe in/agree with your religion/religious views don't
need to live under them, or have you telling them they're wrong. With something as personal as an

Abortion Discussion (Pro–Choice)
Do you believe abortion should be legal?
As a woman who has experienced the horrific tragedy of rape and all of the trauma that comes with
it, I personally find a woman's right to have a say in her own reproductive rights to be of the utmost
importance. Ever since the landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wadewas decided in January of
1973, abortion has been deemed a fundamental right for women. Additionally, a woman's right to
access legal, safe, and professionally–performed abortions severely reduces the risk of death and
bodily harm associated with less safe, unlawful abortions. Lastly, studies performed via peer review
in 2013 found that women who denied abortions were more likely to suffer from mental health
problems when compared to women who carried out the procedure. Furthermore, only 1 in 20
women who received abortions felt that they did not make the right choice in doing so. In other
words, in order to ensure the health of women, both physical and mental, in the United States, it is
vital that safe avenues for abortion remain available to the general public.
Does the Life of a Human Being Begin at Conception?
Human life most certainly does not begin at conception for a variety of reasons ranging from
medical to biological to legal. First of all, when we speak of how long a person has been alive we
commonly refer to their age. A number which represents how long it has been since they were born,
not conceived. Additionally, personhood only begins after a fetus has the ability to survive on its
own outside the womb, a term that is commonly referred to as viability. At the moment of
conception through up to 26 weeks into the pregnancy a fetus is not even capable of feeling pain,
according to Britain's Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. This aforementioned fact
has to do with the lack of a developed cortex in the said fetus. Furthermore, documents such as the
United States Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights fail to recognize fetuses
as living beings as they use words such as "born" to classify those whose rights the documents
encompass. Lastly, to suggest that a zygote, a diploid fertilized ovum that is formed at the time of

77% of anti–abortion advocates are men, 100% of them will never have to make the choice of
whether or not to have an abortion. Why do men have the right to say things and are allowed to
input their opinion about abortions when the majority of them won't ever get an abortion or have to
decide if they are ready to take care of an unexpected child. There are many reasons that women
choose to have an abortion, and the decision is often never made hastily or without thought. There
are often circumstances that make an abortion a very reasonable decision, and it's not always about a
mistaken pregnancy. In cases of rape woman should be able to abort free of judgement. If the
mother's health is affected than she should be able to make the choice without someone
criticizing her. When teen pregnancies occur the mother shouldn't have to be bullied because of
a simple mistake that thousands of other people make every year. Women should not have to ask
for permission to do what she deems necessary for her OWN body. Women should have an option
to have an abortion if they feel it's necessary especially in cases of rape, when it affects their
overall health and/or well being and when teen pregnancies occur. In cases of rape, women should
be able to get an abortion because in many cases it is a daily reminder of the constant trauma they
had to go through. Most people will agree in the case of rape that an abortion is the most common
outcome. They are right. To the people who

The topic on debating about abortion has been one of the biggest controversies there has been in
human history. There are many people in this planet that believe that it is very immoral and even
consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion is, "When a pregnancy ends abruptly, either
voluntarily or involuntarily, and the fetus is expelled from the womb before it can live on its
own. There are many ways you can see things in life, every human being has a different type of
perspective. The way we see things in life and how we feel about them are completely different for
all of us. Now in the case of pro–life believers, they do not support the idea of having an induced
abortion and truly believe it should be illegal. There are many supporters that do not know that if
abortion were to be illegal they would still be performed, sadly by uneducated staffs. There are over
80 thousand maternal deaths that occur almost every year because of unsafe abortions.
The idea of women having the choice to do what she pleases with her own body and support the
right to privacy is a pro–choice belief. A great example could be, when a woman is raped by a man
and becomes pregnant with his child, she then decides she does not want to keep the baby, she
now has an abortion because the idea of raising a child from a man that raped her is a very painful
thing to cope with all her life. Many pro–choice defenders take sympathies to this woman while in

Abortion is constantly called on for being a crime and should become illegal. Abortion is considered
wrong during late term pregnancy although, the woman's life is being threatened the more she
progresses towards the time she is due. Women who are in life threatening position during their
pregnancy should have the right towards abortion. Due to the women being inefficient towards
continuing further on in their pregnancy. Also, the women should be allowed the right to abort
because it is still their own body and at the end of the day it should still come down to their
decision. Another important reason that abortion should be legal is that some women were not even
allowed the choice to conceive due to being abused and raped.
Women go through a variety of changes during pregnancy and problems that occur and that they did
not know even existed until a checkup at the hospital. At this point where the pregnancy has barely
occurred, the issue has yet to show life threatening difficulties. By this it can show that the issue
that will soon cause the woman's life to be endangered would likely to occur during late term. This
would then lead to the women having to decide if she would want to abort or continue further on
into labor and birth of the baby. This will begin to bring a lot emotion towards the women due to
having to readjust her mindset about the baby. Although the women knew that the pregnancy was
risky they still continued to proceed due to the hope that the issue would not worsen and allow the
baby to be born and live a healthy life. In these cases the women can choose to terminate the
pregnancy due to very outrageous consequences if continuing.
Women have the right to choose what they want to do with their bodies. Yes, they should not have
been having having intercourse because it could lead to pregnancy. Although, there are so many
reasons why abortion should be legal and the final say should be up to the women. For example, if
a woman were to become pregnant she could have a very serious illness involving her body not to
be strong enough to support another life growing inside of them, which will then lead to having an
abortion. Also, it is the women's choice to abort or not because the baby does develop

"And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to
kill one another?" a famous quote by Mother Teresa. Abortion is most definitely murder. If
someone murders a pregnant woman and both her and the baby dies then it is considered a double
homicide. This shows the unborn baby in the womb is legally classified as a life. Ronald Reagan
said, "I've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born." I strongly believe this
statement to be true. Many people don't think twice about aborting a baby they just don't want
their lifestyle to be hindered so without really thinking about the pain and suffering that baby is
going to go through they decide to end its life. In a short abortion documentary video Jim Boyd, a

Pro–Life is the way to go Though the Supreme Court voted pro–choice in the 1973 court case of Roe
v. Wade, abortion still remains a hot topic among the American population and political parties. The
case was based on an argument on the 14th amendment: right to privacy, that made it the woman's
decision to have an abortion. This amendment, however does not protect the liberty and privacy of
the fetus, meaning, the child does not receive his or her inalienable rights until after birth. Ever since
Roe v. Wadewas enabled, there has been a strict division within the United States between the
pro–life, and pro–choice believers. The idea of pro–choice negates the 5th amendment rights to life
and liberty. What does it say about the right to kill in the constitution? Nothing. Surgically aborting
an unborn child is unethical, cruel, selfish, and most importantly, it's murder. Abortion V.
Miscarriage As of today, there are two types of abortions; spontaneous abortion and surgical abortion.
A spontaneous abortion–otherwise known as a miscarriage–is the involuntary type of abortion. It is
defined as a non induced fetal death, before 20 weeks gestation. There are a number of causes of
spontaneous abortions, such as chromosomal or genetic abnormalities, malformations of the body or
the unhealthy diet of the mother such as alcohol or drug use. This type of abortion occurs between
10 to 15 percent of all pregnancies among American women (Dulay, A. T. 2017). As for surgical
abortion, a procedure performed in order to remove the unborn child and placenta from the mother's
uterus. Unlike the spontaneous abortion, this type of abortion does not end on its own. "Surgical
abortions involve dilating the opening to the uterus (cervix) and placing a small suction tube into the
uterus. Suction is used to remove the fetus and related pregnancy material from the uterus
(Jacobson, J 2016)." It is so sickening that these lives taken in such a disgusting way. The baby's
limbs are literally being torn apart in this procedure. I can't imagine the pain the child must be in!
So many people hope and wish to someday carry a child of their own and there are mothers out there
who don't want the child they made. In fact, according

The primary goal of the States is to make laws that will protect the citizens. However, recently
people who rule forget about what kind of impact their laws may have on people, particularly
women. Laws that prohibit abortion threaten the health of the women. Without having any choice,
females who really need to get an abortion, choose illegal ways to do that, thus putting themselves
at risk that may lead them to their death. One of the victims of this kind of laws is the friend of
the famous author and feminist, Anne Finger. In her book, "Abortion," Finger describes through
what her friend had to go through when she found out that she was pregnant. Because of inability
to have a legal abortion in the United States, Amber went to the drug dealer who was asserting
that the specific medicine that he was selling would help Amber to get rid of the fetus. The poor
girl trusted him because she did not have any other options and took the pills. "I thought I was

body, my insides pouring out of me, but my womb held tight... Anyhow, I was still sick at ten
o'clock that night, I came home and lay on the couch, crying doubled over [the medicine]" (Finger
413). Being a 16 years old teenage girl, Amber experienced the pain that could be compared to the

Introduction/ Opinion
In this paper I will be arguing about the topic that the government is intervening too much with
abortion and it is the woman 's choice. In my opinion, I think that it is the woman 's choice to have
an abortion if she chooses. In addition to that I don 't believe that a woman should just keep having
abortions over and over again because after the first time they should think of preventing it better
with birth control or just not having intercourse. After the first abortion, I think that it should be
slightly harder to get another one unless there is good reasoning such as rape or they wouldn 't be
able to physically go through giving birth.

Wade and adopted a less restrictive standard for state regulations. The decision allowed states to
impose waiting periods before a woman can obtain an abortion, allowed some legislative interference
in the first trimester in the interests ' of a woman 's health, and permitted parental consent
requirements for minors seeking abortions. [107]The Court ruled that none of these conditions
imposed an "undue burden" upon women seeking abortions, but some pro–choice advocates warned
that Roe v. Wadehad been significantly weakened and that states would limit abortion access.

On Nov. 5, 2003, after passing in the US House of Representatives (281–142) and the US Senate
(64–34), the Partial–Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 [58] was signed into law by President George
W. Bush. This federal legislation banned physicians from providing intact dilation and extraction
(aka "partial–birth" abortion), a late–term (after 21 weeks gestation) method which accounted for
0.17% of abortion procedures in 2000. [43] The act defines a "partial–birth abortion" as "an abortion
in which the provider deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living fetus until... the
entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother, or... any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is
outside the body of the mother, for the purpose of performing an overt act that the person knows
will kill the partially delivered living fetus." Pro–choice advocates challenged the

Abortion is a battle in America. Abortion is a very controversial matter in society. An abortion is
the ending of pregnancy before birth which results in the death of an embryo or fetus (lee). In the
United States, it is legal to abort a baby up until the day of birth. Many people consider abortion to
be as cruel as murder while others believe it is just a medical procedure. Although some might say
abortion is justifiable, others believe that no one but God has the right to take a life. With an issue
like abortion, there is extreme difficulty in determining if it is right or wrong. Abortion has been
around for close to two–hundreds years. The U.S. Supreme Court Case of Roe vs. Wade (Schoen)
in 1973 made abortion legal in America. The ruling was that unborn babies are not a legal
"persons" and from that point on they have had no rights or protection under the American
Constitution (PR Newswire). A woman has the right to make decisions that involve her body. the
government has always respected the individual's right to privacy. A woman's reproductive
system should not be a subject to government regulation. This reasoning was the premise for its
decision in Roe vs. Wade, Every woman has the right to control her own body (PR Newswire). A
fetus is part of a woman's body because it is dependent on her for survival in the womb. An
unborn child is the property of the mother and she can have the fetus killed by an abortion.
Although he or she may have a heart and a brain, and be human life biologically, an unborn baby
is not a legal person. A baby only becomes a legal person when he or she is born. Before that time,
it was not necessary to concern ourselves about him or her because he or she has no legal rights.
There are two different types of abortions. If in the first trimester the patient would likely have a
vacuum aspiration. Vacuum or suction aspiration uses aspiration to remove uterine contents through
the cervix. If a women is her second trimester meaning that it's been more than 13 weeks since your
last menstrual period, she will likely have a dilation and evacuation which involves removing the
fetal and placental tissue with a combination of suction and instruments. A small number of

Within the year of 2017 there were 891,541 abortions that took place in The United States. There
are so many strong arguments that fight against and for the right to have a abortion. The main issue
usually lies with the circumstances that would justify the abortion, making it practically impossible
to solve. Reasons why women will decide to have abortions is because of the inability to support a
child, birth control failure, birth defects, rape or insest, as well as medical conditions that could
endanger the women's health. Reasons why people argue not to have a abortion is becasue it takes
away innocent lives, it violates civil rights of that baby, it can leave the woman with complications
that are harmful to their health, and the baby's organs may be used without any knowledge of it. A

Ethical Dilemma
In this case a woman named Susan has been trying to have a child for many years and finally got

only take a toll on Susan's life, but it can also have many medical issues to worry about as well as

Persuasive Essay On Abortion
Many individuals fail to understand the sheer magnitude of bloodshed, tribulation, and despair
legalized abortion has initiated into the human experience – both in the United States and
worldwide. Far more human lives have been violently ended by this immoral decision than any
other war or genocide in history. It is one of the most controversial issues in today's society.Abortion
is the intentional decision to murder a human fetus by chemical, medical or surgical procedures.
Those who support the rights of abortion argue that women should be able to decide what can be
done to their bodies, yet the unborn baby inside a woman is a living being, and terminating that
pregnancy is the equivalent of murder. These innocent children should not be held responsible for
your mistakes. Don't terminate pregnancy now, because you may not have children in the future at
all. To commence with, during development a human being grows at an astonishingly rapid pace.
According to Guttmacher Institute, "89% of all abortions in the United States are performed in the
first trimester of pregnancy." (2005). In the first trimester (16 weeks), the baby's eyes and eyelids,
nose, mouth, and tongue have formed, and the baby's reproductive organs also develop. The
cardiovascular system is the first system that begins to function. The baby's heart begins to circulate
their own blood, similar to his mother's heart, twenty–two days after conception. Electrical brain
activity can be detected at six or seven

Persuasive Essay On Abortion
Many people are blinded by the tradition of when women cooked, cleaned, and cared for their
children. They have not realized that the world is changing and is in need of change. Men have
almost always had the higher authority in the world. Though only in recent times has the world
changed to having women gain higher authority becoming equal with men. Women in this new era
are finally starting to be recognized equally to men. Although not being able to have safe abortions
women are missing freedom over their body's, Abortions is a moral decision and it "liberates,
empowers, and benefits women and society. Many countries have now realized the rights women
should have. Giving them reproductive freedom and freedom over their body's.Unwanted...show

Her providing it with enough love and care. One of the greatest impacts from the legalization of
abortions is the decrease in numbers of unwanted children.Round 1.2 to 2 million abortions took
place each year through the 1920s through 1930s.Abortions for millions of women have stayed the
same rate that they had for many years ago in the past.Around 25% of pregnancies ended in
abortion in the first half of the 1800s. Women who have abortions are also ones who have children
they just have them at different points in their lifetime. Many people who have trouble saying
abortion is a moral choice believe they realize that some people need it sometimes. 50% of people
say abortion is murder. One–third of those people also think that abortions are sometimes

Persuasive Essay On Abortion

  • 1. Persuasive Speech On Abortion Why are you killing an innocent child? What did they ever do to deserve this? Why are thousands of innocent children killed every day? We ask ourselves these questions every time we hear of an abortion, murder, or abuse. But do we say it when we hear a friend, sibling, or someone else has an abortion? Isn't this the same thing, the killing or abuse of a child? Many people believe this isn't because they are "tissue" but this is incorrect. "Don't tell me these are not children a heart beat proves that. So does a 4–d ultrasound. So do I. And so does the fact that they are selling human organs for profit." –Gianna Jessen She was born with 90% of her body covered in burns, ALIVE. She suffers from Cerebral Palsy from being deprived...show more content... They tell us their tissue, but if their tissue how do their bones break in utero? How can part of their brain be missing? How can they have a tumor if they are just tissue? Gianna saw her biological mother at an event and forgave her for her actions. She isn't angry at her mother for trying to kill her. Abortion does not make you unpregnant it just makes you a mother of a dead child. "Abortion has never been about "choice" It's about escaping the consequences of your choices by taking away the "choices" of the most innocent around us" –unknown This is the truest statement ever. We don't abort babies just because we feel like it. We abort them because they were a "mistake", or we didn't want them. These precious children aren't mistakes they are miracles. "We often hear that if planned parenthood is defunded their would be a health crisis among women without their services they provide. This is absolutely false, pregnancy resource centers are located nationwide for an option for women in a crisis" Gianna Jessen said this. If we stop sending 50 million of our tax dollars to planned parenthood, millions of children will be saved. Planned parenthood doesn't help families, but destroys them. There is proof of this. Gianna doesn't see her cerebral Palsy as a disgrace, but as a blessing. "You continuously use the argument that if the baby is disabled, we need to terminate the pregnancy, as if you can determine the quality of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay on Abortion Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe it is 100% wrong and even consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion is; "The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth." These pro–life believers do not support the idea of abortion and believe it should be illegal. Many of these supporters do not know that if abortion were illegal they would still be performed, unfortunately by an uneducated staff. Over 70 thousand maternal deaths occur every year because of unsafe abortions. These women die, so the idea of supporting pro–life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro–choice. Pro–choice...show more content... The choice of her keeping the child would result in her getting kicked out of her home, she'd be finically unable to support the baby, and she would lose her education. With abortion she would not have to deal with these issues, though she would have to deal with the emotional aspect of deciding to terminate the pregnancy. Pro–choice supports the idea she would learn from her mistake and that ultimately it was her choice to do what she wished with her body. Even though these "Pro Life supporters" think giving up your child for adoption is a better choice than an abortion, but those children would be forced to live in an unfit foster home till they age out of the system. After they turn 18 they are out on the streets what makes the women who would rather just have an abortion have to think about when they know their child is in a foster home and probably no better off than where they would be if she would have just kept it? You have to deal with the emotional circumstances after an abortion for a while but you have to deal with not knowing what the child you gave up has to go through on a daily basis everyday of your life is a lot harder than the emotional toll of an abortion Even though many people practice pro–life because of their religion, it may be surprising to learn that catholic women are 29% more likely to get an abortion than Protestant women, though they are as likely as all women to do Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Abortion ;Mackeesha Jno–Charles Professor Smartt ENGL 1102 23 October 2017 No Uterus, No Opinion Thesis: If women had the necessary information and means to carry out full–term pregnancies, raise their children in safe comfortable environments, and have safe abortions, then the controversy over abortion would cease. The solutions to reducing abortion, or at least making it safer for women, are better leadership in Congress and commitment to women's health, providing up–to–date sex education along with supporting pregnancy assistance programs. "No matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the need for abortion, and support women and families in the choices they make. To accomplish these goals, we must work to find common ground to expand access to affordable contraception, accurate health information, and preventative services." (Montopoli) Women with low income in the US have been at the mercy of this corrupt government since abortion has been legally recognized. The solution to decrease abortions should not reflect increasing the cost of unnecessary clinic regulations along with making waiting periods a requirement, while decreasing the number of doctors available for abortions. This only results in grave injuries and infertility from unsafe at home abortions. Public funding and assistant programs should no longer be a "privilege" to women who want abortions. It should be a automatic given, like guns to a redneck or hopes Get more content on HelpWriting.net

That's approximately 155 babies per hour and 1 every 24 seconds. Purpose: To inform my audience about the cons of abortion and how science supports the facts and persuade audience to rethink the legalization of abortion. Importance to Audience: is abortion murder? Is a fetus a human ? Yes. This speech is to convince the audience that in fact it is murder. Thesis Statement: The cons of abortion and why it shouldn't abortion be legal in America. BODY I. First Main Point. It compounds tragedy and takes innocent lives A.Amalgam of Tragedies Sub point: Perhaps the woman was raped, the baby diagnosed with a defect Or the mother's health at risk these are considered legitimate reason for abortion. From the moment of fertilization – better known as conception we would do better to understand the modern science that unveils the humanity of the fetus . 1. A fetus comes from human parents. 2. The development of a human being begins with fertilization, when the spermatozoon from the male and the oocyte from the female, come together to form the zygote. II. Second Main Point: It violates civil rights. A. Sub point: the Civil rights giving to each human are violated when people are deprived of their following basic rights that cant be taking away life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness . III. • 5. Persuasive Essay On Abortion Abortion in America For many years this issue of abortion has came out, giving a huge debate about it. Right now, in the United States abortion is legal but may be restricted by the states. The states have limited degree of power. Some of the laws passed by some states are the requirement of parental notification for minors, the term of pregnancy, the abortion risk information given to the patients for the procedure, etc. Abortion is becoming more pro choice. I wanted to research abortion because I didn't really know anything about it when we had debates in class. Should abortion be legal in the United States? Abortion in America should be always legal no matter the circumstance. Many of you believe that a life is taken away or religion doesn't allow abortion, but it should always be a choice to women. Those needs, interests, values, beliefs will lead a women to take the decision. This research should benefit anyone because you will have the information needed to go pro choice or stay pro life. I am pro choice meaning that any women should have the right to abort, but that doesn't mean I would abort. I would never abort a baby, but having the choice there make a difference. There are two ways to abort a baby. The first one is going to In–Clinic Abortion in where you will see a medical trained instructor. The instructor will than use a medical instrument that will suction to remove the baby from your uterus. This procedure 99% of the time. The produce is long, but very safe. The second one is medication to abort. You take a pill that causes your pregnancy to end it's like a early miscarriage. This works 98% of the time. 3 in 10 women in the U.S will have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old. This information is from Planned Parenthood America. Knowing that abortion is super safe I have no doubt about pro choice. ProCon.org gave me the laws in abortion and what people believe. In January 22, 1973 Roe v. Wade declared that abortion is a "Fundamental Right". The supporter identify themselves a pro choice because abortion is right that shouldn't be limited by the government or religious authority. They also said that pregnant women would resort in unsafe illegal abortions if there is no legal option. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Abortion Essay 1 out of every 6 women in America has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. Reports conclude that 5% of these victims become pregnant, and that's in America alone. To make matters worse, most of these women cannot afford an abortion and have to live with a constant reminder of the horrible things they've been through. That's why victims of sexual assault should have free access to an abortion if needed. First of all, abortion should totally be the choice of the woman, even if she's not been sexually assaulted. Bringing a life to this earth when you're not ready mentally or financially is extremely hard and without any help from outsiders it would be nearly impossible to raise a child. Its also extremely selfish, because your responsibility is not to only bring a child into this world, but the child needs to be fed, educated and has to have a roof over its head. So when you're agains abortion (pro–choice), you're basically saying you are pro–birth rather than pro–life. Also, abortion reduces crime. When we're talking about woman who can't afford an abortion, they definitely don't have a good enough income to raise a child in a stable home. When they do have the baby, they will grow up in poverty, and when I'm not saying every child raised in poverty will become a criminal, but when...show more content... If there is something that you don't like because your religion doesn't permit it or something, then that's where you stop involving yourself to interfere with other people's lives that differ to yours and your religion. People that don't believe in/agree with your religion/religious views don't need to live under them, or have you telling them they're wrong. • 7. Persuasive Essay About Abortion Form Writing for publication was presented as a newspaper article. The chosen theme was a real–estate article. Bold headings to grab the eye of the reader were used, same as big and clear images. The article was presented in three different columns. Writing for a visual prompt was presented in two peoples perspectives. The story consisted of a daughter (Deb) and mother's perspective after the death of her father. The purpose of this layout is to show how they are both grieving in individual ways. Writing for the persuasive was presented as an essay on why abortion should be accessible in every country, and to also outline the shame women receive. It addresses a degree of emotional abuse, and mental health issues that a death can cause. The context of the persuasive essay on abortion is set in the 21st century, and as the world becomes more accepting actions such as abortion, laws begin to change to cater to the new generation. However, there are always people that will oppose to these changes. That's what was outlined in my persuasive essay. Target Audiences The target audience for the real –estate article is someone who is looking for a spacious house to purchase. It probably would be directed more at a young family that's looking for more room, or a couple that are planning on having a bigger family in the future. Due to the economy and the continuous increase of house prices, this house probably would be targeted at a middle–class family. The target audience for the visual prompt is someone who is looking for a story that contains an unexpected ending and series of events. It also touches basis on mental health. Its more targeted at a younger audience, between 16–30 years old. As it's based on two women, the gender of the audience probably would be more women than men. As it focuses on grief and how that can change someone, it can be relatable to some audience members. The target audience for the persuasive piece on abortion would be more directed at someone that supports abortions, or have similar views as me. • 8. Persuasive Essay About Abortion Abortion Discussion (Pro–Choice) Do you believe abortion should be legal? As a woman who has experienced the horrific tragedy of rape and all of the trauma that comes with it, I personally find a woman's right to have a say in her own reproductive rights to be of the utmost importance. Ever since the landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wadewas decided in January of 1973, abortion has been deemed a fundamental right for women. Additionally, a woman's right to access legal, safe, and professionally–performed abortions severely reduces the risk of death and bodily harm associated with less safe, unlawful abortions. Lastly, studies performed via peer review in 2013 found that women who denied abortions were more likely to suffer from mental health problems when compared to women who carried out the procedure. Furthermore, only 1 in 20 women who received abortions felt that they did not make the right choice in doing so. In other words, in order to ensure the health of women, both physical and mental, in the United States, it is vital that safe avenues for abortion remain available to the general public. Does the Life of a Human Being Begin at Conception? Human life most certainly does not begin at conception for a variety of reasons ranging from medical to biological to legal. First of all, when we speak of how long a person has been alive we commonly refer to their age. A number which represents how long it has been since they were born, not conceived. Additionally, personhood only begins after a fetus has the ability to survive on its own outside the womb, a term that is commonly referred to as viability. At the moment of conception through up to 26 weeks into the pregnancy a fetus is not even capable of feeling pain, according to Britain's Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. This aforementioned fact has to do with the lack of a developed cortex in the said fetus. Furthermore, documents such as the United States Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights fail to recognize fetuses as living beings as they use words such as "born" to classify those whose rights the documents encompass. Lastly, to suggest that a zygote, a diploid fertilized ovum that is formed at the time of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Abortion 77% of anti–abortion advocates are men, 100% of them will never have to make the choice of whether or not to have an abortion. Why do men have the right to say things and are allowed to input their opinion about abortions when the majority of them won't ever get an abortion or have to decide if they are ready to take care of an unexpected child. There are many reasons that women choose to have an abortion, and the decision is often never made hastily or without thought. There are often circumstances that make an abortion a very reasonable decision, and it's not always about a mistaken pregnancy. In cases of rape woman should be able to abort free of judgement. If the mother's health is affected than she should be able to make the choice without someone criticizing her. When teen pregnancies occur the mother shouldn't have to be bullied because of a simple mistake that thousands of other people make every year. Women should not have to ask for permission to do what she deems necessary for her OWN body. Women should have an option to have an abortion if they feel it's necessary especially in cases of rape, when it affects their overall health and/or well being and when teen pregnancies occur. In cases of rape, women should be able to get an abortion because in many cases it is a daily reminder of the constant trauma they had to go through. Most people will agree in the case of rape that an abortion is the most common outcome. They are right. To the people who Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay On Abortion The topic on debating about abortion has been one of the biggest controversies there has been in human history. There are many people in this planet that believe that it is very immoral and even consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion is, "When a pregnancy ends abruptly, either voluntarily or involuntarily, and the fetus is expelled from the womb before it can live on its own. There are many ways you can see things in life, every human being has a different type of perspective. The way we see things in life and how we feel about them are completely different for all of us. Now in the case of pro–life believers, they do not support the idea of having an induced abortion and truly believe it should be illegal. There are many supporters that do not know that if abortion were to be illegal they would still be performed, sadly by uneducated staffs. There are over 80 thousand maternal deaths that occur almost every year because of unsafe abortions. The idea of women having the choice to do what she pleases with her own body and support the right to privacy is a pro–choice belief. A great example could be, when a woman is raped by a man and becomes pregnant with his child, she then decides she does not want to keep the baby, she now has an abortion because the idea of raising a child from a man that raped her is a very painful thing to cope with all her life. Many pro–choice defenders take sympathies to this woman while in the other hand she then gets called a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On Abortion Abortion is constantly called on for being a crime and should become illegal. Abortion is considered wrong during late term pregnancy although, the woman's life is being threatened the more she progresses towards the time she is due. Women who are in life threatening position during their pregnancy should have the right towards abortion. Due to the women being inefficient towards continuing further on in their pregnancy. Also, the women should be allowed the right to abort because it is still their own body and at the end of the day it should still come down to their decision. Another important reason that abortion should be legal is that some women were not even allowed the choice to conceive due to being abused and raped. Women go through a variety of changes during pregnancy and problems that occur and that they did not know even existed until a checkup at the hospital. At this point where the pregnancy has barely occurred, the issue has yet to show life threatening difficulties. By this it can show that the issue that will soon cause the woman's life to be endangered would likely to occur during late term. This would then lead to the women having to decide if she would want to abort or continue further on into labor and birth of the baby. This will begin to bring a lot emotion towards the women due to having to readjust her mindset about the baby. Although the women knew that the pregnancy was risky they still continued to proceed due to the hope that the issue would not worsen and allow the baby to be born and live a healthy life. In these cases the women can choose to terminate the pregnancy due to very outrageous consequences if continuing. Women have the right to choose what they want to do with their bodies. Yes, they should not have been having having intercourse because it could lead to pregnancy. Although, there are so many reasons why abortion should be legal and the final say should be up to the women. For example, if a woman were to become pregnant she could have a very serious illness involving her body not to be strong enough to support another life growing inside of them, which will then lead to having an abortion. Also, it is the women's choice to abort or not because the baby does develop Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay On Abortion "And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?" a famous quote by Mother Teresa. Abortion is most definitely murder. If someone murders a pregnant woman and both her and the baby dies then it is considered a double homicide. This shows the unborn baby in the womb is legally classified as a life. Ronald Reagan said, "I've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born." I strongly believe this statement to be true. Many people don't think twice about aborting a baby they just don't want their lifestyle to be hindered so without really thinking about the pain and suffering that baby is going to go through they decide to end its life. In a short abortion documentary video Jim Boyd, a member of the Florida House of Representatives, asked Alisa LaPolt Snow from Planned Parenthood if a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion what Planned Parenthood would want to happen to that child whom is struggling for life....show more content... What do your physicians do at that point?" She responds, "I do not have that information. I'm not a physician, I'm not an abortion provider so I do not have that information." We later find out in the video that in a situation like that the physician would not do anything to help that baby survive, they would just let it die on the table. If the baby needs resuscitation it will not be provided. • 13. Persuasive Essay On Abortion Pro–Life is the way to go Though the Supreme Court voted pro–choice in the 1973 court case of Roe v. Wade, abortion still remains a hot topic among the American population and political parties. The case was based on an argument on the 14th amendment: right to privacy, that made it the woman's decision to have an abortion. This amendment, however does not protect the liberty and privacy of the fetus, meaning, the child does not receive his or her inalienable rights until after birth. Ever since Roe v. Wadewas enabled, there has been a strict division within the United States between the pro–life, and pro–choice believers. The idea of pro–choice negates the 5th amendment rights to life and liberty. What does it say about the right to kill in the constitution? Nothing. Surgically aborting an unborn child is unethical, cruel, selfish, and most importantly, it's murder. Abortion V. Miscarriage As of today, there are two types of abortions; spontaneous abortion and surgical abortion. A spontaneous abortion–otherwise known as a miscarriage–is the involuntary type of abortion. It is defined as a non induced fetal death, before 20 weeks gestation. There are a number of causes of spontaneous abortions, such as chromosomal or genetic abnormalities, malformations of the body or the unhealthy diet of the mother such as alcohol or drug use. This type of abortion occurs between 10 to 15 percent of all pregnancies among American women (Dulay, A. T. 2017). As for surgical abortion, a procedure performed in order to remove the unborn child and placenta from the mother's uterus. Unlike the spontaneous abortion, this type of abortion does not end on its own. "Surgical abortions involve dilating the opening to the uterus (cervix) and placing a small suction tube into the uterus. Suction is used to remove the fetus and related pregnancy material from the uterus (Jacobson, J 2016)." It is so sickening that these lives taken in such a disgusting way. The baby's limbs are literally being torn apart in this procedure. I can't imagine the pain the child must be in! So many people hope and wish to someday carry a child of their own and there are mothers out there who don't want the child they made. In fact, according Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Persuasive Essay On Abortion The primary goal of the States is to make laws that will protect the citizens. However, recently people who rule forget about what kind of impact their laws may have on people, particularly women. Laws that prohibit abortion threaten the health of the women. Without having any choice, females who really need to get an abortion, choose illegal ways to do that, thus putting themselves at risk that may lead them to their death. One of the victims of this kind of laws is the friend of the famous author and feminist, Anne Finger. In her book, "Abortion," Finger describes through what her friend had to go through when she found out that she was pregnant. Because of inability to have a legal abortion in the United States, Amber went to the drug dealer who was asserting that the specific medicine that he was selling would help Amber to get rid of the fetus. The poor girl trusted him because she did not have any other options and took the pills. "I thought I was going to die. I puked and puked and ran a fever of 103. Everything was wavering–the walls, my body, my insides pouring out of me, but my womb held tight... Anyhow, I was still sick at ten o'clock that night, I came home and lay on the couch, crying doubled over [the medicine]" (Finger 413). Being a 16 years old teenage girl, Amber experienced the pain that could be compared to the body burning in fire. • 15. Persuasive Essay On Abortion Introduction/ Opinion In this paper I will be arguing about the topic that the government is intervening too much with abortion and it is the woman 's choice. In my opinion, I think that it is the woman 's choice to have an abortion if she chooses. In addition to that I don 't believe that a woman should just keep having abortions over and over again because after the first time they should think of preventing it better with birth control or just not having intercourse. After the first abortion, I think that it should be slightly harder to get another one unless there is good reasoning such as rape or they wouldn 't be able to physically go through giving birth. Abortion Procedures There are several different types of abortion today,...show more content... Wade and adopted a less restrictive standard for state regulations. The decision allowed states to impose waiting periods before a woman can obtain an abortion, allowed some legislative interference in the first trimester in the interests ' of a woman 's health, and permitted parental consent requirements for minors seeking abortions. [107]The Court ruled that none of these conditions imposed an "undue burden" upon women seeking abortions, but some pro–choice advocates warned that Roe v. Wadehad been significantly weakened and that states would limit abortion access. [108][109] On Nov. 5, 2003, after passing in the US House of Representatives (281–142) and the US Senate (64–34), the Partial–Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 [58] was signed into law by President George W. Bush. This federal legislation banned physicians from providing intact dilation and extraction (aka "partial–birth" abortion), a late–term (after 21 weeks gestation) method which accounted for 0.17% of abortion procedures in 2000. [43] The act defines a "partial–birth abortion" as "an abortion in which the provider deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living fetus until... the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother, or... any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother, for the purpose of performing an overt act that the person knows will kill the partially delivered living fetus." • 16. Persuasive Essay On Abortion Abortion is a battle in America. Abortion is a very controversial matter in society. An abortion is the ending of pregnancy before birth which results in the death of an embryo or fetus (lee). In the United States, it is legal to abort a baby up until the day of birth. Many people consider abortion to be as cruel as murder while others believe it is just a medical procedure. Although some might say abortion is justifiable, others believe that no one but God has the right to take a life. With an issue like abortion, there is extreme difficulty in determining if it is right or wrong. Abortion has been around for close to two–hundreds years. The U.S. Supreme Court Case of Roe vs. Wade (Schoen) in 1973 made abortion legal in America. The ruling was that unborn babies are not a legal "persons" and from that point on they have had no rights or protection under the American Constitution (PR Newswire). A woman has the right to make decisions that involve her body. the government has always respected the individual's right to privacy. A woman's reproductive system should not be a subject to government regulation. This reasoning was the premise for its decision in Roe vs. Wade, Every woman has the right to control her own body (PR Newswire). A fetus is part of a woman's body because it is dependent on her for survival in the womb. An unborn child is the property of the mother and she can have the fetus killed by an abortion. Although he or she may have a heart and a brain, and be human life biologically, an unborn baby is not a legal person. A baby only becomes a legal person when he or she is born. Before that time, it was not necessary to concern ourselves about him or her because he or she has no legal rights. There are two different types of abortions. If in the first trimester the patient would likely have a vacuum aspiration. Vacuum or suction aspiration uses aspiration to remove uterine contents through the cervix. If a women is her second trimester meaning that it's been more than 13 weeks since your last menstrual period, she will likely have a dilation and evacuation which involves removing the fetal and placental tissue with a combination of suction and instruments. • 17. Persuasive Essay On Abortion Within the year of 2017 there were 891,541 abortions that took place in The United States. There are so many strong arguments that fight against and for the right to have a abortion. The main issue usually lies with the circumstances that would justify the abortion, making it practically impossible to solve. Reasons why women will decide to have abortions is because of the inability to support a child, birth control failure, birth defects, rape or insest, as well as medical conditions that could endanger the women's health. Reasons why people argue not to have a abortion is becasue it takes away innocent lives, it violates civil rights of that baby, it can leave the woman with complications that are harmful to their health, and the baby's organs may be used without any knowledge of it. A abortion case will be explained from a Christian worldview perspective of ethical dilemmas that will differentiate between if a baby with down syndrome should be aborted or live a life with the disorder. Ethical Dilemma In this case a woman named Susan has been trying to have a child for many years and finally got pregnant. Unfortunately she had blood work done and confirmed that her child would indeed have down syndrome. Her doctor suggested that she should abort the baby becasue it could not only take a toll on Susan's life, but it can also have many medical issues to worry about as well as shorten the child's life span. • 19. Persuasive Essay On Abortion Many individuals fail to understand the sheer magnitude of bloodshed, tribulation, and despair legalized abortion has initiated into the human experience – both in the United States and worldwide. Far more human lives have been violently ended by this immoral decision than any other war or genocide in history. It is one of the most controversial issues in today's society.Abortion is the intentional decision to murder a human fetus by chemical, medical or surgical procedures. Those who support the rights of abortion argue that women should be able to decide what can be done to their bodies, yet the unborn baby inside a woman is a living being, and terminating that pregnancy is the equivalent of murder. These innocent children should not be held responsible for your mistakes. Don't terminate pregnancy now, because you may not have children in the future at all. To commence with, during development a human being grows at an astonishingly rapid pace. According to Guttmacher Institute, "89% of all abortions in the United States are performed in the first trimester of pregnancy." (2005). In the first trimester (16 weeks), the baby's eyes and eyelids, nose, mouth, and tongue have formed, and the baby's reproductive organs also develop.
