3. OVERVIEW OF RUNNING
* The technical definition of running is: moving at a speed
faster than a walk, never having both feet on the ground at
the same time.
* Running is a popular physical activity, but it requires a
lot of hard work. It takes time to improve your time and
distance.
4. PROPER AND SAFE
TECHNIQUE
* Make sure you are looking forward instead
of down.
* Your shoulders should stay low and loose,
without tension.
* Don’t clench your fists tightly, just hold your
fingers lightly against your palms.
* You should try to run in an upright position
because it helps lung capacity.
6. ATTIRE
Synthetic materials are the best/most popular
because they draw sweat away from the body,
whereas cotton stays wet when you sweat in it.
Synthetic socks reduce discomfort and
reduce your chance of getting blisters.
You should have good running shoes that
support your arch and are made for running.
7. SAFETY ISSUES
Running can be very rough on your joints and
your body; if you don’t stretch or if you over
do it, you are bound to pull a muscle or injure
yourself badly.
If you hurt yourself, be sure to rest until your
injury is better, otherwise you can injure
yourself further.
