A literacy campaign was launched in the Indian state of Bihar to address its very low literacy rates. Volunteers and teachers worked to educate people in small villages and communities about the importance of education. Over 1.5 million people were enrolled in literacy classes through this large-scale effort to improve access to education across the rural areas of Bihar.
