Setting up French Fries Projects has never followed a standard practice. Potato varieties, process routes to adopt, QA/AC regimens and extent of automation desired determine the final picture and features of any project.. MAZDA are in the forefront to help you set up a well conceived plant. More at www.mazmach.com

RESPONSE TO YOUR INQUIRY
To respond meaningfully to inquiries for FRENCH FRIES PLANT EQUIPMENT, we present
hereunder some notables…
NO two process plants are ever the same. For that reason, we commit ourselves on actual costs of all
equipment only after we have compiled a PLANT DESIGN DOSSIER ( PDD) ‐ our term for a PROJECT
REPORT on a specific project, seen and evaluated the Potato variety for dry solids and moisture content,
etc, as well as seen the water report from the location to determine the nature and extent of water
treatment required, if at all. Then we can compute the exact costs, which again are also dependent on
the packaging style required, the extent of automation or manual operations required.
A BRIEF on your approximate scale of French Fries production is generally provided to provide you with
a perspective.
Normal categories of scales are as under:
1. ENTRY LEVEL SCALES: 500 kgs per hour finished product‐ AND LESS ( Least being 200 kgs/hr)
2. 750 to 1000 kgs per hour
3. 1500 to 2000 kgs per hour
4. Above 2500 kgs through to 7000 kgs per hour
A brief presents certain approximate budgetary costs ONLY.

Difference between FRESH french fries and PRE‐FRIED ( or PAR‐FRIED) french fries.
The FRESH french fries are not fried at all but processed and frozen and held at 4 degree C. They are
tastier but have a shorter shelf life , which may be slightly extended beyond 15 days. On the other hand,
Pre‐ fried Frozen French Fries are indeed partly fried and frozen to ‐18 to ‐25 deg C. They register long
shelf life‐ even beyond a year. This is the form in which French fries are available around the world.
Again, when you make FRESH french fries, you get a higher yield of almost 70 to 75 % of the potatoes
quantity and quality used.
The Pre‐fried french fries yield is at around 50 to 60 % of the potatoes quantity and quality used.
Indeed, a plant can be designed to produce BOTH products‐ Fresh French Fries and Pre‐Fried French
Fries in any capacity proportion. Materials balances would be established for each stage of the process
and accordingly the schedule of plant equipment, utilities, packaging and freezing needs would be
arrived at.
Conceptualization of a project is the essential first step. Our own technical inputs and data from the
location of the project are used to produce a detailed study and presented in the form of a PLANT
DESIGN DOSSIER (PDD). This will be an exhaustive document ( Contents described in attachment)

THIS DOCUMENTATION IS SPECIFIC TO YOUR PROJECT, LOCATION SPECIFIC, TARGET MARKETS‐SPECIFIC,
PLANT CONFIGURATION IDEALLY SUITED TO YOUR PROJECT.

Our equipment mix is European and Indian. We are tied up with some world leaders in this discipline.
The costs as detailed for this activity are presented the Schedule of Costs. Should you proceed with an
order for equipment with us, the Cost of the PDD shall be credited back to you in the Equipment cost.
The web page titled PROJECTS at www.mazmach.com details how we take up projects.

Summing up…
1. Promoters and entrepreneurs generally look for suppliers of plant equipment for the process
plant, insist on quotes on the basis of essential specifications.
2. Most equipment manufacturers, with due regard to competing quotes that will be collected by the
promoter, end up providing a very basic list of equipment along with basic ratings and
capabilities. They sometimes go further, specifying electric power requirements and some of the
utilities. All issues and equipment not described by the very basic listing of processing equipment
are left unattended and assumed amongst EXCLUSIONS.
3. Promoters, yet to be initiated, assume they have all they need to take decisions!
4. This is far from facts.
5. They have no idea of: Any of the support systems, extent of automation embodied in the scope of
the listed basic equipment, inter-station conveyors, utilities equipment and their service lines,
packaging equipment dictated by options on packaging styles for the target markets, raw
materials / product holding storage needs, quality control and assurance needs, etc.
6. These additional needs are always customized and deliberated upon in a PROJECT DESIGN +
CONCEPTUALIZATION activity.
7. This involves significant technology / know how inputs.
8. The resulting costs will be far greater than the listed process equipment offered.
9. MAZDA offers will include our own equipment along with a mix of critical specialized
equipment from our associates and collaborators in Europe and America, all leaders in
their disciplines, resulting in current generation state-of-the-art plants.

At MAZDA, we have, over the years, promulgated this methodology which does away with needless
efforts to get the complete picture.
We start with:
PROJECT DESIGN + CONCEPTUALIZATION
And the PLANT DESIGN DOSSIER (PDD)
The promoters then have all they need to know, can establish an agenda to move forward, have no
hidden costs to contend with.
These are variously described internationally as PREOPERATIVE AND PRELIMINARY NEEDS and are
detailed at the web page PROJECTS at our website www.mazmach.com
On completion of the PDD the promoters have…
o Identification of end products, by products, related diversified possibilities
o Total familiarity with the project of equipment and conceptualization of specifics.
o Review of processes available for their specific plant and scale
o Identification of process equipment, packaging equipment, specific support
systems, utilities required.
o Budgetary costs (All inclusive) of equipment, services needed.
o Project needs of buildings, utilities, off sites
o Evaluation of availability and suitability of raw materials
o Financial involvement and profitability analysis
Additional project services from MAZDA are clearly listed in the Schedule Of Costs

A professional team of engineers / experts, within the PROJECT PLANNING
DIVISION at MAZDA, an organization actually concerned with the design of
complete plants, can do justice and eliminate lapses in planning and design
activity for a project. This requires intricate knowledge of all equipment, options,
strengths and weaknesses, optimization techniques, orienting un-related
equipment into the process flow and a host of other issues, including technical
knowhow.
We do not encourage meaningless, time consuming exercise in answering
questions and providing un called for clarifications, as the STUDY ENGINEERING –
PDD package answers this need of a serious entrepreneur/project promoter.
