The lake plain region of Ohio has clay soil deposited by glacial Lake Erie and is a popular tourist destination, especially around Sandusky. The till plains region has very fertile, flat land that stretches into neighboring states and is well-suited for growing corn and pop-corn. The bluegrass region contains flat-topped hills and cliffs along creeks and many tobacco farms in its rich soil. The largest region, the Appalachian Plateau, was only partially covered by glaciers and provides habitat for wildlife.
