We will create a pressure-sensitive DeskPad (to place under laptops, keyboards, etc), bluetooth and/or WiFi connected, that can detect unhealthy pattern of computer use based on pressure patterns of the hands, elbows and forearms. The pad will be responsive and teach the user to avoid Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) using colored indicators to encourage good posture and healthy computer use. Data will be synced with a smartphone or desktop app that can track use and provide information over the long term that can help health professionals determine whether working conditions are contribution to worker injury.
