2. When creating my trailer my main aim was to make sure that it conforms to the
conventions of a horror trailer. In order to ensure that I was successful doing this when
playing my horror trailer I took many factors into account.
The first factor that I took into account when planning my horror trailer was the
location. For my location I sued the local woods which I believe is an excellent location
for a horror film. The woods provided plenty of low key lighting which helped my
trailer to achieve an eerie atmosphere. Low key lighting is a convention of a horror
trailer which features frequently in many horror films as it gives the protagonist a

from many of the shots effects and costumes I saw within the three trailers. The three
trailers that I analysed were ; The Woman In Black, The Pact and The Watch. Whilst
planning my horror trailer I took many of the techniques used in these trailers and
took them into consideration thinking of incorporating them into my own trailer.
4. The second factor that I took into account when creating my horror trailer was camera
shots. Frequently in horror films there is power trouble between the protagonist and
the antagonist which is where the use of high and low angle shots are used. Also when
the protagonist feels quite disorientated a hand held shot is used to make that come
