SMS notification setup using EM12c for OnCall or Standby DBA

1. SMS notification setup for Standby/OnCall roster using EM12c
Step1: Create a user for after-hours SMS
SetupSecurity  Administrators
I have created user “ORACLEDBA_SMS” for this purpose:
On E-mail address field, you need to enter each of the standby DBA’s mobile number

2. Setting notification Schedule:
i. Click Setup  Notification My notification Schedule
ii. Next page – click on edit Schedule Definition
iii. The default setting
iv. Modify Schedule

3. I am going to set up for three dbas on rotation from next week:
v. Click continue
Step3: Setup Notification time with the standby dba
Select “Start Time”, “End Time”, “Days of week”, ‘Weeks” then select “E-mail-address” for
the stadndby person. Time selection is for the same day. Therefore I divided as below format
for Standby roster:
A. Everyday 5PM-12AM
B. Everyday 12AM-8AM
C. Saturday/Sunday 8AM-5PM
A.Everyday 5PM-12AM
press “Batch Fill-in” button after email selection.Make sure “view  week1.

4. Click finish button.
B.Everyday 12AM-8AM
Click “Edit Schedule Definition” again

5. Click Continue
Click Finish button
C.Saturday/Sunday 8AM-5PM
Click “Edit Schedule Definition” again

6. Click finish button
Step 4: Now for 2nd Week for Second standby DBA [Same as Step 3]

7. Step 5: Now for 3rd week for third standby DBA (Myself) [Same as Step 3]

8. Click Finish button; then Edit Schedule definition  Edit Existing Schedule
Click Finish button; then Edit Schedule definition  Edit Existing Schedule

9. Step6: Check the notification status
Click Setup  Notification My notification Schedule
Next page: I select 3rd week and press “Go” button
