At the end of the class, students will able to

UNOCCUPIEDPLAY
• Thechild isnot
playing or watching
anyone or anything
in particular.
• Theymight stand or
sitand just do
nothing.
• Thechild spendsmost
of their time watching
othersplay.
• Theymight look or
talk to the players,
but will notengage
in the actual play
activity
ONLOOKER
SOLITARYPLAY
(Independent Play)
• The child plays
alone.
• No connection or
conversation is
made with anyone
nearby.
• Infants and toddlers
• Thechild plays alone but
with toysthat are shared
with others.
• Thechild plays besideother
children but
communication might be
limited or noneat all.
• Toddlers
PARALLELPLAY
• Thechild plays with
other children.
• social interaction,
conversation present
between the children.
• Play with same things
and same activities.

ASSOCIATIVEPLAY
• Children come together and
play in formal game in a
group.
• A group of children with a
commongoal or similar
interests,or playing formal
games.

Summary
•Today we have discussed about the play and its
types. The main types of play includes solitary,
parallel, co-operative, associative, onlooker, and
unoccupied play.
