This document provides details of a 4th year core course (Module Anesthesiology) at the National University of Malaysia. The 2 credit, 80 hour course aims to familiarize students with anesthesia techniques, drugs, airway equipment and management of perioperative patients. Students will maintain airways, perform basic life support, and communicate with patients and medical teams. The 2-week posting exposes students to principles of general and regional anesthesia, airway skills, basic life support, and management of critically ill patients. Teaching methods include lectures, skills labs, tutorials, operating room procedures and assessments.
