2. Introduction
We are learning about the Creation so that we ;
• Understand more about it
• Can discuss it with our friends
• Are able to obtain different views and opinion
• Can further develop our Faith
3. Days One & Two
On day one, God created night and day
Genesis 1; 3-5
Then God commanded ‘Let there
be light’ – and light appeared.
God was pleased with what he saw
Then he separated the light from
the darkness and he named the
light ‘Day’ and the darkness
‘Night’
Genesis 1; 6-8
Then God commanded ‘Let there
be a dome to divide the water and
keep it in two separate places’ –
and it was done
So God made a dome and it
separated the water under it from
the water above it
He named the dome ‘sky’
Whilst on day two he separated the sky from the water,
creating a barrier between the two
4. It’s Amazing ….
The world is such a beautiful place, its amazing how
God created it in just seven days .
For about 12 hours the earth is bright and it is easy to
see God’s amazing world and then for a further 12
hours, the earth is dark – allowing creatures to rest
The sky is like a ceiling protecting the land
5. Days Three & Four
On day three, God separated the land from the sea
Genesis 1; 9-13
Then God commanded ‘Let the
water come together in one place,
so that land will appear’ – and it
was done.. He named the land
‘Earth’ and the water he named
‘Sea’
The he commanded ‘Let the earth
produce all kinds of plants, that
bear grain and fruit’ - and it
was done
Genesis 1; 14-19
‘Let lights appear in the sky to
separate day from night’
So God made two larger lights ,
the sun to rule over the day and
the moon to rule over the night.
He also made the stars
He placed the lights in the sky to
shine over the earth
Whilst on day four he created the sun, the moon and
all the stars in heaven
6. Water and Land
We are blessed with beautiful and varied landscapes
across the earth from mountains to forests and fields to
sand dunes
Plants of various shapes and sizes are found in
virtually every part of the earth providing shade, food
as well as amazing smells and colours
7. Light and Darkness
The sun brightens our days as well as warming the
land and the creatures who live on the Earth
The moon and stars never cease to amaze people with
their twinkling lights in a black sky – creating a
dramatic contrast
8. On day five, God created creatures to live in the seas
and to fly in the sky
Genesis 1; 20-23
‘Let the water be filled with many
kinds of living beings and let the
air be filled with birds’
He blessed then all and told the
creatures in the water to reproduce
and fill the sea
He told the birds to increase in
number
Genesis 1; 24-31
‘Let the earth produce all kinds of
animal life’
‘And now we will make human
beings; who will have power over
fish, birds and animals
He created them male and female,
blessed them and said ‘have many
children’
Days Five & Six
Whilst on day six, he created wild and domestic
animals to roam the earth, and humans to rule over
them
9. All God’s Creatures
Creatures must have been designed as none of them are
the same and they all have different habitats (Genesis
1:20-26).
All creatures are on the earth for a reason as either
part of the food chain or as a predator
The oceans are full of sea life, the sky full of birds and
insects
Humans were created in God’s own image, yet each one
of us is unique
10. The universe was completed
God finished his work and rested
Genesis 2; 1-4
By the seventh day God finished
what he had been doing and
stopped working.
He blessed the seventh day and set
it apart as a special day because
that the was the day he completed
hi creation
Day Seven
11. A Breathtaking Garden
As part of the universe, God created The Garden of Eden
full of life sustaining food, fish, birds, insects and
animals
The fruit on the Tree of Knowledge in the middle of the
garden is both good and evil. (Genesis 2:8-20). In this
tree we see how we have to obey God and how he
designed everything that we have.
12. In My Opinion…
God did not create the world in seven days as we know
seven days
It is impossible to create such a large, beautiful, unique
and complicated universe in 168 hours (seven days)
In God’s ‘world’ one of his days may be the same as 100s
or 1000s of our days
The bible is not strictly true but providing a guide
without the restrictions of time or science to explain
how the world began
Also in Genesis 1, it does not say how many human
beings God created, although Genesis 2 suggests there
were only two – which is not possible if God wanted lots
of human descendents to rule over the earth
