3. nce upon a time, in a distant country, a miller who had three sons,
who wanted alike. However, the miller was very poor and when he
died just had to give in inheritance to their children, three things:
the mill, the donkey and the cat. The division of the inheritance, it would be
by the age of their children. Then, the mill corresponded to the firstborn,
the donkey to the second son, and to the smaller the cat.
When he is divided the inheritance, Charles, the youngest son thought that
it had been the most unfortunate because his two brothers could work
together to accumulate some wealth.
However even if the father was a good person, he had failed to fortune by
his stubbornness and bad habits. Charles believes that with a cat could do
nothing.
The cat was very attentive to the thoughts of his master. It was a cat with
great skills! Suddenly, the cat speak... and told his new master:
The cat told him: you do not regret. Of the three brothers you're the
luckiest. To prove it and consolidate your new fortune I only need you to
give me a pair of boots and a coat.
Surprised, Charles brought things required
by the cat. He was also very surprised about
his cat and discovered that this animal was
very clever and had the ability to speak and
also make coordination in the future.
So, cat took the boots and put them, he put on
his coat and went in to the forest.
O
4. When the cat came to the forest, he filled a sack with grass and traps for
animals and threw himself on the floor, pretending to be dead.
A few minutes several rabbits approached the bag and trying to eat grass
it contained were caught in traps.
Happy for the triumph of his trick the Puss In Boots picked up the bag
with the rabbits and was the royal palace, where asked to speak with the
king to deliver a present from his master.
The guards let him enter, and already in front of the monarch, the cat
exclaimed:
"Your Majesty, allow me to give you this gift resulting from your ability to
hunt, from my master the Marquis de Carabás."
The King had never heard of such noble, but the rabbits had as good meat,
who immediately thought that it was a very good hunter and gladly
accepted the gift.
"Thank you for this gift, cat," said the king.
Make sure that your owner should receive my gratitude and tell him that it
is welcome in our palace.
The cat was very happy and quickly it went to tell his owner that it had
happened to Charles, who did not understand the plan of its cat.
However, the feline asked him to act, that time you understand the truths
reasons of his plan.
After that, Jack repeated his tactics. This time, the prey
were two partridges and in return received a tip of the
King who was handed over to Charles.
The time passed and for several months the cat
brought the result of his hunting to the king, who
5. always gave him something in return and expressed his interest to know
the Marquis that had had many details with him.
But it turns out that one day the cat thought that it was the moment to
advance with its plan and began creating something new and advancing to
obtain the fortune for its owner.
Meanwhile the King came out in his carriage with her daughter the
beautiful Princess of the region to give a stroll by the river.
Hearing this, the cat urged Charles to get into the river in smaller cloths
and asked him to obey his orders of the cat.
Charles accepted without question anything. Actually, he had been living for
several months now on the money that his cunning animal companion
brought him every day. He realized that he liked the easy money and that
he was a bit lazy.
When the carriage passed through the roads of the same place where the
young man was bathing, the cat began to shout:
As the carriage passed near the site where the boy bathed the cat began
to scream:
Help, help! Thieves have robbed my master and have taken his clothes.
Therefore, he is on the river, embarrassed and without being able to leave
it.
6. As soon as he heard the king ordered to stop his caravan. He had
recognized the cat and worried about the fate of the noble Marquis de
Carabás, he asked the cat to tell him the complete story of the robbery.
How many thieves participated? What belongings were stolen? What time
did the robbery take place? Was it the first time he was assaulted?
Why did they take off his clothes? Were the thieves young or old? Where
did the robbers escape?
The Puss in Boots had to answer each question of king and won the
solidarity of the monarch who ordered to give clothes luxurious the
Marquis, for that might come out of the water.
At that moment, Charles immediately understood the meaning of his cat's
plans.
In this way, he accepted the king's invitation to accompany him and his
daughter in the carriage for the rest of the ride.
As soon as Charles got into the chariot, he saluted the king with great
courtesy and acting like a noble Marquis, and when he went to greet the
king's daughter, he was greatly disappointed. The Princess was a very
young girl, but she was neither beautiful nor distinguished, she was very
fat and distracted. He spoke too much and his voice was
exaggeratedly loud.
As it advanced, the royal caravan was in its path to
producers of hay, wheat and other crops in great
demand in the palace.
7. The king always ordered to stop the passage of his carriage to ask with
the workers and to know for whom he worked and whose lands they
were.
Cunningly, the puss in boots, who was at the head of the caravan, had
warned them what they should say this because they will die if they did
not do it. They replied the monarch, who were workers of the famous
Marquis de Carabás, owner and lord of the lands for which he Monarch
was traveling right now.
While this was happening, in the head of the king he thought that a future
idea that the young Marquis was the ideal suitor for his daughter, who was
apparently delighted with the young man, however, Charles was
disillusioned with the presence of the princess.
A few kilometers later, had a fabulous castle, competing in beauty and
splendour with the Royal Palace.
But it happens that a few minutes before the caravan arrived, the cunning
cat that progress had been made even more, had thought of a great idea.
This castle, which was very well known, was the property of an ugly ogre.
The cat came up and I greet him:
"I am pleased to greet you, my lord," said the Cats
in Boots.
- Very kind - said the ogre
"I congratulate you on that splendid castle, it is
your property," the cat
asked.
- No, I only work part time
in this great castle -
answered the ogre
8. -I understand. And who is the owner of this fortress? "Asked the cat.
- Oh, you ask many questions small cat. What is your name? Remarked
the ogre.
- They call me the Puss in boots, and what is your name?
- My name is Quasimodo.
- Nice to meet you Quasimodo, what do you do? - The cat asked
- I work in maintenance and cleaning by part time.–
- All right, I need you to help me! You can lend me your castle to make the
king believe that this great fortress belongs to my master, "the cat asked.
- Mmmnn, this castle is not mine! And my life may be in danger, "said the
ogre.
-"I beg you," said the cat.
-“Ok, I will do it – the ogre answered.
-"Thank you for your help," said the cat.
Then, when the royal caravan arrived, Quasimodo received the delegation
along with other servants and with great solemnity said:
"Welcome Your Majesty and beautiful princess to the castle of my master
the Marquis of Carabás. They can dispose of their land as they like to rest
and return whenever they feel like it.
This was what the king needed to hear to make his
decision. The young, handsome and wealthy Marquis de
Carabás was undoubtedly the perfect candidate to marry
the princess and succeed him on the throne.
When I finish the event, in the
cottage of Charles, holds a
conversation with the cat. The
boy tells him that he does not
want the princess as his wife
9. because he was disappointed in her. The little cat approaches him and
says,
-When you found out that your father left you an inheritance cat, you
regretted your luck and bad luck. Instead, now look at your destiny, thanks
to my intelligence, sagacity, you can become the king's great successor,
only if you marry the princess!
- I do not want to marry her!! I am a young and attractive boy, the young
man
-She is a princess! I recognize it! Unfortunately, she has no distinction, no
beauty. She is fat and screams many times. I do not think he's good
character, said the young man.
- Mmmnn, maybe you're right! But do not forget that for love all people
change and becomes better people, said the cat.
- For love!! I have no feelings of love towards her, "said the young man.
- Not yet. You could meet her and approach her, said the cat.
"What a dilemma!" Said the young man.
- Calm down, and let yourself be counseled respected master.
- I will trust you. You are right, your advice has been fantastic and you
have known the trust of everyone and the king himself.
- You realize master, I am your fortune coin in this life.
After a few months. Charles approached the king's daughter to meet her.
They walked through the beautiful gardens near the
palace and enjoyed the evenings eating strawberry
cakes.
He recognized several qualities of the princess, for
example that she was a girl who adored her father. He
also helped farmers with donations of some grains
for crops. And the initiative she had in bringing
together some maidens from her court to teach
children to read and write while being assisted by the
princess herself.
10. These new qualities changed Charles's attitude towards the princess. I
come to feel more affinity, and with a better will to understand it.
After two years, the friendship between Charles and the princess had
strengthened. Always guided by the advice of the magnificent cat with
boots. They were likely to get married some time.
So Charles was the main Advisor of the King along with the cat with boots
and was happy and proud to have inherited a cunning puss in boots.
Tale based on the original story of the Tale The Puss in
boots written by Charles Perrault (French) 1628 - 1703.
