• Thousands of inhabitations inundated
• More than 65% of capital city submerged
• Over 300 dead
• More than 25,000 homes destroyed
• Over 15,00,000 people affected

5. Government is offering “Too Little” , that too in installments:
Central Government has announced Rs. 570 crores against the
loss of more than Rs.100,000 crores and that too is yet to be
spend on ground
Rs.75000 for fully damaged & collapsed houses which is not
even sufficient to dismantle it…
Giving 35kg rice to a family.
Does it really address the sufferings… ?
Certainly NOT
Some questions Remain unanswered :::
Needs are timely and Can’t Wait…
6. Are we waiting for our people to DIE of cold
In Harsh Winters ……..?
7. Jammu Kashmir Rehabilitation Forum
Joining Hands Together
Is an amalgam of 70+ Voluntary Groups, Non-Profit and
other Organizations like Trade Federations, Mohalla
Committees, etc.
We all have converged to several common points :
Work in coordination with each other to ensure that the relief
reaches to all properly and no one stays neglected
Collect factual data of all the affected families and businesses so as
to ensure the task of rehabilitation is carried in a phased and
procedural manner
Orient the efforts collectively for productive and substantial
progress on ground
Be a Voice that can represent the genuine problems and issues of
the flood affected people in national and international forums
8.
9. Our team has strived with tremendous
courage in very intricate situations during
rescue operations…
We collectively managed to save lives of
more than 10,000 people
10.
11. Detailed surveys and damage assessment of affected areas
by our team of volunteers.
Verification by our team with help of Mohalla committees and
local volunteers.
Intervention in coordination with Mohalla committees for
disciplined distribution of relief and further rehabilitation
process.
Identification of worst hit families.
12. We have a pragmatic approach towards rehabilitation process in which
involvement of all the stakeholders (Affected Family, Government & Non-Profits)
is the focus.
Our plan envisages support for the family duly keeping in mind that people don’t
become dependant forever.
We fully take care of the essentials like winter gear, beddings, etc to deal with
extreme winters of Kashmir .
We also support some part of day-to-day expenses of the family.
We expect the family also to contribute a small portion of day to day needs so as
to keep up self-respect and the spirit of rising again so that they take part in their
own rehabilitation.
