Viewing Lab Results and Documenting Patient Communications in Amazing Charts

2. Go to patients chart or you can right
click patients name
Go to Imported items
Then click on Laboratory
You then can click on Libs labs that are
scanned or labcorp Labs

3. After your provider reviews the labs
he/she will send you a message or a
reminder.
This will be in your message box.
You then can call patient and read
them the results or write patient a letter
explaining there labs.
4. This is for Walk IN labs
Go to patients chart.
Click on “Write Orders”
Then click on the “lab” tab
Pick the labs that are being ordered.
Then pick the name you are sending the orders
too.(this will be providers nurse)
Then be sure to click the providing Dr.
Then you click the “send orders” button

5. (This is until Libs labs are imported into the computer)
Right click on patients name
Click on “pull imported items”
At this point you will put the labs in the scanner.
Click on “import new”
Click “import directly from scanner”
Then save to patients chart
Then type in what was scanned in. example
CMP,CBC,URINE
Then you will send to your provider.

6. This is after an order is sent to your message box.
Click on the “order” that is in your message
box.
Highlight each test by holding down the ctrl
button and click on each test.
Then up top you will choose “labs pending”
Then update order.
S/n do not delete order from message box
until labs are back.

7. Click on the order from your message box.
Then click on “results pending”
Then highlight one test
Then at the bottom click on “find imported labs not
yet reconciled”
Then click on show all
Then find that lab test you highlighted and double
click it.
Then you update order.

8. Right click on patients name
Click on print notes and letters
Click on “to patient”
If you right click on the box you can import a template
and move to chart.
Then type your letter
Then print and save to chart.
S/N if you are not on your providers name you will have
to send it to your provider for him/her to sign off on it.

9. It is very important to save INR reading to patients charts therefore if
we can find patients charts we can go from the reading in amazing
charts.
Pull patients chart up
Go to addendum
Type in the current dose, todays
reading, the new dose, the doctor who
read it and your number
Save to chart.

10. Pull up patients chart.
Go to decision support
Click on injections
Type in the injection (Phenergan) and the strength
(Phenergan 60mg)
Fill the rest of the information out
Be sure to put you number in the comment box
Save to chart.

11. Pull patients chart up.
Go to decision support
Type in PPD
Fill out the rest of the information
You have to manually type in Forearm
The route is ID
Then Save

12. Pull patients chart up.
Click on summary sheet
Click on injection
Double click on PPD
It will bring you back up to the screen in decision
support.
In the comment box type (Neg or Pos) with your
number.
Then click save and close.
It will then bring you back to summary sheet.
Click on PPD then print.

13. If you want to edit a file name under
Imported items you can.
Right click on the item you want to
change.
Then click on “edit item description”
You then can change the “Item Type”
For example, if the front desk imports a HIPPA form once they do
so they can change the “item type” to HIPPA FORM

14. If a patient comes in for back pain we now have a
way you can print out a handout for that patient
through amazing charts.
While in a patients chart go to Imported
Items.
Then click on “HIE/RHIO”
It will then bring up different tabs you
can click on. Choose the tab you need
Then print.

15. If you want to document you called a patient with there
labs you can. However you can only do this with Libs Labs
that are scanned in.
Go to patients chart.
Go to Imported items
Right click on the lab
Go to edit item description
Then where it says item description you can say “spoke
with patient about labs the date and your number”
Then click Edit It

16. Right click on the patients name
Go to pull imported items
Click On Import Items
Then click on Midmark
Then click ECG
Make sure everything is filled out, if you put
the BP in before running the EKG it will
automatically fill that part out.
Then Click run test
After you get a good reading click Analyze
Then Exit and save to chart.

17. Click on the patients name.
Attach it to the message box
Choose who you are sending it to
Type your message then send message.
Your provider will get the message respond
to you and send it back to you.
Then save message to chart.
It is very important your document
EVERYTHING, including EVERY phone
call!!, other wise if someone else pulls the
chart, they won’t know what’s going on.
And it needs to be in AC, not just your
notebook.

18. A lot of people like to leave there name up in amazing charts
when you do a lab through the walk in lab.
It is very important to LOG OFF amazing charts if you are not
using it. Or otherwise someone can document something under
your name. As you all know if you haven't used amazing charts
in a while it locks your name then if this happens the other
person coming along has to completely shut down the system
and that can take a while. BE SURE TO LOG OUT AFTER USING
AMAZING CHARTS
To log off!
Go to file
Then click LOGOUT
