PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASS : NSAIDS; non-selective COX inhibitor (aryl aceticacid derivatives)
MECHANISM OF ACTION :

It gets concentrated in synovial fluid, hence preferred in arthritis

Dysmenorrhoea
Post traumatic & post operative inflammatory conditions
Affords quick relief of pain & wound edema.
ADVERSE EFFECTS :
Mild epigastric pain (combined use of diclofenac with misoprostal reduces GI irritation & peptic
ulcer)
Nausea,vomiting, headache,dizziness, rashes
Gastric ulceration & bleeding
Reversible elevation of serum amino transferases
Rarely kidney damage
