SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
∙ Twelve years experience serving as the primary point-of-contact and liaison between
patients, medical staff, and support staff to ensure optimal communications outcomes.
∙ Proficient in medical terminology.
∙ Extensive knowledge of bedside, radiological, and surgical procedures.
UNIT MANAGEMENT /COORDINATION
∙ Designedand maintained a functional filing system.
∙ Monitored and adjusted the patient census board for multiple units.
∙ Utilized specially designed computer programs, (EPIC) and (PCIS) to admit and
discharge patients from the units, enter medical orders for doctors, and retrieve patient
information.
∙ Participated in the weekly audit of unit safety. Attended monthly meetings as my units’
primary Safety Officer.
MEDICAL UNIT ADMINISTRATION
∙ Managed a multi-lined phone system, transferring calls and receiving messages.
∙ Prepared advanced directive paperwork.
∙ Was responsible for providing copies of all medical forms.
∙ Alerted proper medical staff of bedside alarms.
∙ Filed authorized paperwork in patients' medical charts.
∙ Ordered and stocked medical, and office supplies.
∙ Was in charge of monitoring all office and medical equipment, and informing
maintenance and /or I.T. of equipment failure.
∙ Organized transportation of patients to and from medical procedures and tests.
∙ Facilitated hospital-to-hospital transfer of patients.
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RECEPTION
∙ Greeted patients, as well as friends and family members of patients.
∙ Produced product shipping inquires.
∙ Performed administrative and secretarial support functions for two units, employing up
to 60 MDs, 30 RNs and multiple support staff.
