-Responsibilities are to coordinate, compile and provide data to assist in recruiting, screening and determining
eligibility of volunteers for participation in clinical studies.
-As Clinical Operations Trainer, is responsible for training Clinical Operations Staff, documenting training,
and maintaining training files.
-Responsible for obtaining pertinent training materials and presenting information to staff members in a
manner that facilitates optimal comprehension and ensures compliance with established Clinical procedures.
February 29, 2016 to present- Phlebotomist Associate ( Mid America Clinical Laboratories –
St. Mary’s Hospital, Evansville Indiana –Follow the diagnostic testing process begins with the
collection of a specimen by a qualified , professional phlebotomist. Committed to improving the
health of patients and recognize the vital role of phlebotomy job and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Confirm the identity of the patient prior to specimen collection. Respect and maintain the
privacy of patients and their confidential information. Ensure the information is captured completely
and accurately. Follow the CDC and MACL (Mid America Clinical Laboratories) guidelines such
as order of draw, the use of correct tubes specimen for laboratory testing, accurate labelling of
collection tubes in front of patient and proper disposal of used supplies e.g. needle, gloves,
disposable gowns, mask.

Read protocols for assigned studies to determine what screening procedures are necessary to deter-
mine participant qualification as well as to understand the Inclusion and Exclusion criteria for the
study. Work with Project/Study Manager/ Coordinator and Screening/ Recruitment Supervisor to
arrange any special screening procedures that may be necessary for the study. Ensure that
recruiting questionnaire is accurate in helping to determine eligibility of study participants. Prepare
and organize all necessary materials for participant screening and physical exams including
medical history packets , informed consents packets, calendars and any other documents and / or
forms required for the study. Assist with obtaining informed consent and medical history from
from screening volunteers. Ensure that all necessary screening tasks have been performed
including weight, height, frame size, venipuncture, vital signs, electrocardiograms, spirometry and
and simple laboratory procedures as needed and required per protocol. Review screening charts for
accuracy and completeness. Prepare screening charts for Project/Study Manager and Physician
review . Maintain the status of the study subjects in the database. Take the lead with the training of
screening of the screening staff . May liaise with Clinical Operations, Study Managers, and
screening and panel selection . May produce weekly staff duty rotas, liaising with
Resources to coordinate the screening scheduling system in order to meet deadlines on volunteer
achieve optimum time management utilizing the full potential of both Clinical Operations and
Screening Staff..

Assist with screening procedures. Collection and processing of biological samples as specified in the
protocol and ensures the proper distribution of those samples. Transcription of data from source
documentation onto the Case Report Forms ( CRFs ) for simple to complex studies and QC of CRFs.
Accurately record all research data obtained or observed. Assist with training of new staff members.
Assist with QC of source documents and case report forms. Attends required meetings, as

performing screening procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with source documents and subject or patients
armband.
2. Obtain blood specimen by performing venipuncture/ finger sticks and inserting angio catheter per study
protocol.
3. Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following standard operating procedure;
observing isolation procedures.
4. Tracks collected specimen by initialing, dating, noting time of collection, reviewing blood log/ source
documents prior, during and after blood draw.
5. Performs glucose levels test per study protocol and notify Nurses/Doctors when needed.
6. Perform bleeding time test, platelet aggregation test and tromboxane test per study requirements per
protocol.
7. Maintain quality results by following department procedures and testing schedule or PK placard,
identifying and reporting any changes/amendment.
8. Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standard policies and procedures and
other standard requirements.
9. Verifies all lab kits such as tubes were all complete including the expiry date.
10. Determine the appropriate method of obtaining the proper amount of blood.
11. Responsible to perform the procedure and have the proper vessels to contain the sample and
responsible to properly label the sample and transport the sample to the laboratory in a timely manner.
12. Participate with the training of newly hired staff. Demonstrate the correct technique in performing
venipuncture, inserting angio catheter.
13. Describe the legal implications of Phlebotomy and practice ethical behavior and recognize the
importance of the Patient’s Bill of Rights.
