4. You are a doctor
Get involved with patient care, you are not a “glorified secretary”

Even if it feels like it sometimes…

home
Don’t take work home with you; hand over your patients to afterhours doctors when it’s time to go home
7. Be a Professional
Introduce yourself, rise above gossip, be considerate to everyone,
be discreet about your colleagues
8. Enjoy the other half of your life
You have (probably) never had both money and time together so
make your holidays count; make time for friends and family
9. Follow the “when you can” rule
Eat when you can, sleep when you can, sit when you can etc.
etc… because it’s not fun when you “can’t”
10. Don’t get jaded
Clinical leadership is an emerging field - if something can be
improved, speak up about it; get involved with service redesign
