9. Discussion Points
COMMENTS RAISED AT MEETING WITH PLANNING OFFICER ON JAN 22nd 2011
1. WE SHOULD CHECK THE PLANNING HISTORY TO LOOK AT PREVIOUS APPLICATIONS
COMMENTS, OBJECTIONS ETC.
Nothing on record
2 THE SITE IS NOT IN GREEN BELT OR CONSERVATION AREA, BUT WE MUST CONFIRM THE ‘USE’
OF THE EXISTING SITE.
The Site is defined as MAJOR AREA OF RECREATION SPACE as referred
to in the Core Strategy Policy CP12
3. THERE MAY BE AN INTENSIFICATION OF TRAFFIC. WE WILL HAVE TO ADDRESS THIS. SHOW
EXISTING AND PROPOSED PARKING
A traffic report will be needed, to address any perceived intensification of car
movements together with showing appropriate onsite parking for the new
Centre.
4. ANY NOISE AND DISTURBANCE MUST BE ADDRESSED
Consideration will need to be given to sound proofing the building to avoid any
noise or disturbance to the adjoining properties.

COMMENTS RAISED AT MEETING WITH PLANNING OFFICER ON JAN 22nd 2011
5. OPENING HOURS NEED TO BE CONSIDERED
Consideration will need to given to opening hours and the management of the building
6. WE SHOULD INCLUDE SUSTAINABLE FACTORS
We should consider Solar power, ASHP and sustainable materials for the new building.
7. WE SHOULD LOOK AT ‘OR’ PLANNING POLICIES
PLANNING POLICY 6.28 (OR7) Proposals to improve the range of indoor recreation,
arts, and entertainment facilities will normally be permitted within the built-up
area, unless they would be detrimental to the character of the area or the amenities
of nearby residents. Proposals for large-scale facilities should be close to other
traffic generating activities, to minimise journeys, and be readily accessible by public
transport.
THE PLANNING OFFICER HAD NO PRINCIPLE OBJECTIONS TO THE PROPOSAL AND SAID THE LA
ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY LEAD VENTURES WHICH BENEFIT THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
WE SHOULD ENHANCE THE PLANS AND SUBMIT THEM TO THE LA FOR THEIR COMMENTS.
THERE WOULD BE NO CHARGE FOR THIS
