Mardi Gras Poker Night Supports
Charleston, WV Charities Event

As a leading West Virginia casino, Mardi Gras Casino &
Resort hosted Chips for Charity Poker Tournament on
Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Chips for Charity brought ten
local celebrities to play Texas Hold 'Em Poker for a chance to
win $5,000 for the charity of their choice. Each of the nine
runners-up received $500 for their charity. All the
participants chose charities that focus on helping people on
a local level.
Some West Virginia Celebrities Stopped by the Casino for
the Event
Each of the ten players chose local charities. Kenny Bass and
Rick Lord, of WCHS TV, chose Children's Theatre of
Charleston and Manna Meal, respectively, as their charities.
Major Harris, WVU football legend, played for the Make-A-
Wish Foundation. Carl Agsten, owner of Agsten Construction,
had fun playing West Virginia poker for the
Kanawha/Charleston Humane Society. Matt Ballard, of the
Charleston Area Alliance, played for CAA Capital Area
Development Corporation Foundation. Jessica Lynch, former
POW and national hero, selected the WVU Children's
Hospital. Andy Milovich, represented WV Power and played

for his chosen charity, the YMCA of Charleston. Doug Skaff, of
the WV Legislature, played for the March of Dimes. Brian
Bailes, of Smith Company Motor Cars, selected Hospice, and
was the last one out before Kensie Westerfield, of WV
Executive Magazine, won $5,000 for her charity of choice,
Alzheimer's Association.
A West Virginia Style Poker Tournament for a Worthy
Cause
Rhondell Miller was at the event representing Manna Meal.
"We're not a government funded agency so every dollar that
comes in, goes right back into feeding the people. $500 buys
a lot of milk and juice for the morning breakfast." Each of the
charities chosen by the players were excited to participate
and look forward to putting the money to good use in
Charleston and the surrounding area.

1. Mardi Gras Poker Night Supports Charleston, WV Charities Event As a leading West Virginia casino, Mardi Gras Casino & Resort hosted Chips for Charity Poker Tournament on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Chips for Charity brought ten local celebrities to play Texas Hold 'Em Poker for a chance to win $5,000 for the charity of their choice. Each of the nine runners-up received $500 for their charity. Major Harris, WVU football legend, played for the Make-A- Wish Foundation. Carl Agsten, owner of Agsten Construction, had fun playing West Virginia poker for the Kanawha/Charleston Humane Society. Matt Ballard, of the Charleston Area Alliance, played for CAA Capital Area Development Corporation Foundation. Jessica Lynch, former POW and national hero, selected the WVU Children's Hospital. Brian Bailes, of Smith Company Motor Cars, selected Hospice, and was the last one out before Kensie Westerfield, of WV Executive Magazine, won $5,000 for her charity of choice, Alzheimer's Association. A West Virginia Style Poker Tournament for a Worthy Cause Rhondell Miller was at the event representing Manna Meal. "We're not a government funded agency so every dollar that comes in, goes right back into feeding the people. $500 buys a lot of milk and juice for the morning breakfast."
