Manish Golchha and Prabakaran are co-founders of DayHalt, a startup that offers day use hotel rooms. Manish has experience in the hotel industry and running his own travel company. Prabakaran is a computer science student interested in web development. They launched DayHalt to address the problem of finding day use hotel rooms while traveling. The website dayhalt.com launched with rooms in four cities and plans to expand its offerings and geographic coverage over the next year. 3. DayHalt Journey – How it started
• Even though I am a businessman, but zeal to become entrepreneur & to innovate out of the box
product inspired me to start DayHalt.
• Faced problem to find day use hotels for myself at Delhi in Feb 2013.
• Started discussion on TRHS. Encouraging feedback motivates me to take it further.
• Approached Hotels to see their reaction. Mixed result. 5 Star hotels bit reluctant even though they
are providing dayuse rooms.
• Approached customers and corporate to validate my idea. 65% feedback were positive.

4. The BIG launch
• Suppose to launch on 2nd Sep but what motivates me to keep
trying & what inspired me to remain positive even after
failing at my first startup, is Therodinhood forum, their
personal touch and most importantly people of this group. So

5. Future plans
• Apart from Hotels, talks are going on to include resorts, service apartment,
rentals and homestay for dayuse.
• To provide combo package like Daystay with transfers, Stay with Spa &
transfer, Stay with VIP darshan, Stay with Birthday / Anniversary celebrations
, one day resort package with day use rooms to attract customers.
• We are focusing on Asian market as well. Within 9 -12 months, will cover
Singapore & Hongkong.
Challenges & How to solve
• Major problem we are facing is tieup with 5* Hotels (even though they are
providing dayuse rooms but don’t want to get online)
• How to main inventory for all the hotels as all are using different software.
• How to get best rates from Hotels ?

• What’s the right time to look for mentor or accelerator ?
• When we should hire our first employee (both Technical
and non-technical) apart from Interns.
