Four Faith Smart solution: LoRa wireless tech in
power transmission monitoring application
The highly increasing of power transmission lines require more and more demand
on the touring maintenance working from lines operating workers and the real-time
status in the surrounding environment. Lora, with the capacity of super long-rang and
low power consumption, solve the problem of super long-rang data communication in
the complex condition, via installation of different detectors, collecting devices in the
power transmission lines to conduct the data collecting from different information in
the power transmission lines, to ensure the real-time acknowledge of the operating
status of power transmission lines, to ensure the safety of grid operating. Through the
on-line monitoring of power transmission lines, it could accurately know the real-time
operating status of lines in time to effectively lower down the costing of touring
maintenance and narrow down the maintenance cycle, and then largely lower down
the impact caused by the breakdown of power transmission lines, to ensure the stable
and safety operating of grid.

System requirement:
1.To embed the lora wireless module into different sensors and detectors installed in the
power transmission lines, to be able to transfer the data through 2G/3G network and
Internet network via Lora gateway to the data center monitoring station.
2.To be able to real time monitor if anything wrong happen in lines in each grid area from
the monitoring room in the remote centre monitoring station. If something wrong happen,
then you can immediately inform the maintaining workers to do the repairing on-side,to
achieve the policy of well solving problem “fast,accurate and relentless”
3.Even though the administrators are not in the monitoring room, they are still able to
conduct the real time detecting and maintaining to each index in power transmission lines
via APP, it is easy and convenient to handle,labor-saving and time-saving.

Topology
1.System forming
The whole system is made up by different sensors and detecting equipment in the power
transmission lines(like wire temperature sensor, Wind deviation monitor, tower tilt
sensor,icing detector etc), Four Faith wireless devices(Lora wireless module F8L10D and
Lora gateway F8114L) and server.
2. communication theory
All the LoRa modules wireless covered in the same area connecting with the relative
gateway to be star network, different sensors and detecting equipment in the power lines
to transfer the collecting data to F8L10D module via TTL serial, and then gather the data
to the center node F8114L gateway via LoRa wireless network,finally package into tcp
data packet via gateway and then transfer to remote center monitoring station, server will

automatically store and analyze the date and intuitively present them in front of
administrators.
The sensors and detecting equipment in the power transmission lines:
Path wind deviation monitor: used in the wind deviation discharging straight tower drape,
or in the span basically vertical to the leading wind all the year round (under the condition
of big wind) or in the lines with excessive wind speed all the year round, to real time detect
parameters like the ground wire amplitude, frequency, vibration time, vibration wave
shape etc, and transfer the detected real-time data to center monitoring station via
LoRa/GPRS wireless network.
tower tilt sensor: used to monitor the tower tilt status in the power transmission line goaf,
settlement area and bad geological section, real time monitor the tower data like
horizontal tilt, vertical tilt etc, and transfer to center monitoring station via LoRa/GPRS
wireless network.
wire temperature sensor: to real time monitor the wire temperature based on power
transmission lines dynamic compatibilization theory model, and transfer the detected wire
temperature data to center monitoring station via LoRa/GPRS wireless network. It is
widely used in the power transmission lines dynamic compatibilization real time monitoring,
wire temperature, wire Ice-coated direct-current melting ice wire temperature monitoring,
key confluence plate temperature monitoring etc.
