Introduction 
M-learning or mobile learning is defined as “learning across multiple 
contexts, through social and content intractions,using personal 
electronic devices. A form of e-learning distance education, m-learners 
can use mobile device educational technology in many locations at 
their time convenience.
Mobile learning technologies include hand held computers,MP3 
players, note books,mobile phones and tablets-learning focuses on the 
mobility of the learner, interacting with portable technologies.Using 
mobile tools creating learning aids and materials becomes an important 
part of informal learning 
Mobile learnig delivers e-learning on smallform 
factor devices too 
 Deliver education materials and promote learning. 
 Faster communication and collaboration 
 Conduct assessment and evaluation 
 Provide access to performance support and knowledge 
 Capture evidence of learning activity 
Class room 
class room applications combined the use of handled computers, 
PDAs, smart phones or handled voting system( such as clickers) with 
traditional resources . 
Class management 
Mobile devises ( such as pocket PC) in the class room can be used to 
enhance group collaberation among students through 
communication applications, interactive dispalys and video features.

The value of mobile learning 
 It is important to bring new technology into the class room 
 Devices used are more light weight than books and PCs 
 Mobile learning support the learning process rather than being 
integral to it 
 Mobile learning can be a useful add – on tool for students with 
special needs. However, for SMS and MMS this might be 
dependent on the studentsspecefic disabilities or difficulties 
involved. 
 Mobile learning can be used as “ hook” to re-engage diseffected 
youth. 
Benefits of M-learning 
 Relatively inexpensive oppertunities, as the cost of mobile devices 
are significantly less than PCS and laptops 
 Multi media content delivery and creation options 
 Continuous and situated learning support. 
 Decrease in training costs 
 Potentially a more rewarding learning experience 
 Improving levels of literacy,numeracy and participation in 
educatuion amongst young adults.

CONCLUSION 
The use of mobile phone learning in an educational environment 
would have a very positive effect on the learning experience. It appears 
that future generations are extremity receptive to utilizing new 
technology and as a matter of fact, they appear to embrace it. With the 
emergence of social net working, blogging , you-tube, students expect 
to be able to utilize mobile technology on the flight to connect 
anywhere and any time of the day.
