3. Family:
His spouse was Mabel Hubbard. He had two
brothers and four sons. His father was
Alexander Melville Bell and his mother was
Eliza Grace Symonds Bell.
4. Early life:
Both of his brothers died of ``tuberculosis´´. For
his 11th birthday, his father acquiesced and
allowed him to adopt the middle name
``Graham´´.
5. Education:
At age 16, Bell secured a position as a ``pupil-
teacher´´ of elocution and music, in Weston
House academy. Alexander completed his
matriculation exams and was accepted for
admission to the University of London.
6. Adult life:
To help deaf children, Bell experimented in the
summer of 1874 with a human ear and
attached bones, magnets, smoked glass and
other things.
