1. Original Salvation Army World War I Doughnuts
Ingredients
○ 4 cups flour
○ 1/2 tbsp butter
○ 1 cup sugar
○ 1 egg
○ 1 1/2 tsp salt
○ 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
○ 4 tsp baking powder
○ 1 cup milk
Directions
1. Put flour in shallow pan, add salt, baking powder, and
sugar.
2. Run in butter with fingertips
3. Add to well beaten egg and milk and stir thoroughly.
4. Toss on floured board.
5. Roll to 1/4 inch thickness.
6. Shape and fry and drain
