The Căpcăun is a creature in Romanian folklore described as an evil ogre that kidnaps children and young ladies, especially princesses. According to legend, the Căpcăun has characteristics of both humans and dogs, sometimes with extra eyes, legs or heads, and is known for its anthropophagy and living alone in a den that smells of death, attacking anyone who comes near.
