Join us for our free presentation where we'll explore how to protect your Microsoft Dynamics GP and Infrastructure 365 by leveraging Backup and Disaster Recovery tools in Microsoft Azure. A must see if you are an infrastructure 365 or GP customer!
During the session, you will see:
Basic must-haves to protect your data
Common pitfalls to avoid
Azure tools to assist with protecting your data
Data backup
Site Recovery
Features and scenarios
6. Data Backup
• Onsite and offsite copies
• Always have several copies – ransomware
• Test restores regularly
• Physical media may deteriorate (test may not work 2nd time)
7. Azure Backup - Features
• Backup direct to Azure storage
• Local backup and offline copy
• Archive for long term retention
• Geo replication available
• Compression and Encryption
8. Azure Backup - Benefits
• Meets compliancy requirements for offsite backups
• No hardware costs
• No physical transportation of tapes
• Restore to on-premise server or Azure
• Instantly available
10. Disaster Recovery
• Critical to have a plan
• Test at least annually
• Refine the plan based on test results
• Examples of cases with no plans
11. Azure Site Recovery - Features
• Automated protection and replication of servers
• Partial or full site recovery
• Warm standby
• Restore to an on-premise server or Azure
• Annual recovery plan testing
12. Azure Site Recovery - Scenarios
• Replicate Azure VMs from one Azure region to another
• Replicate on-premises VMware VMs, Hyper-V VMs,
physical servers (Windows and Linux) to Azure.
13. Summary
• Azure tools to assist with protecting your data (Azure
backup and Azure Site Recovery)
• Test regularly that you can restore from backup media
• Have a disaster recovery plan and test it at least
annually

Before we begin, I would like to review a few simple housekeeping items:
We expect the webinar to last approximately 35-40 minutes
Please note that the presentation is being recorded and will be available to view on demand.
All participants are set to listen-only audio mode and will remain so for the duration of the webinar.
If you have a question, click the “Question” button on the right hand side of your screen. In the new pane that opens, type your question in the top box and click Ask
Do feel free to submit your questions at any point during the presentation and we will answer each one offline after the webinar.
With all the recent news with GDPR I’m sure you’ve all heard how important it is to protect an organisation’s data and particularly personal data.
Unfortunately, some organisations only really put an emphasis on this when they experience some type of disaster resulting in data loss. The impact to the business can be financial, lost productivity or loss of reputation.
In extreme cases, a business may not recover from it.
The first step in preventing any data loss is obviously to backup your data but there are some basic “Must Dos” that all businesses should have covered.
To assist customers with protecting their data we are offering some services leveraging Azure
The services are Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery. I’ll ask Richard to take over at this stage seeing as he has implemented these in a number of sites – No pressure Richard!
Importance of testing backups
Features
Backup direct to Azure (even form SQL)
Local copy and offline copy in Azure
Easily configurable for long term backup retention (example 14 daily, 12 monthly, 7 yearly)
Compression available to reduce costs and bandwidth requirements
Encryption for security
Benefits
Meets compliancy requirements for offsite backups
No hardware costs
No physical transportation of tapes
Restore to on-premise server or Azure
Instantly available
In addition to protecting your data, you also need to make sure you can recover your applications in the event of a disaster. Azure Site Recovery is a service that allows for the setup and test of your disaster recovery solution. You can replicate on-premises VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines and physical servers to Azure to stay available if the primary site goes down
Disaster Recovery in General
Automated protection and replication of machines
Partial or full site recovery
Warm standby
Restore to an on-premise server or Azure
Annual recovery plan testing
Option for m-hance to setup only or setup and manage.
Copy in your account manager if you have one.
When the webinar closes – a survey will pop up containing a 3 questions. It would be really helpful if you could spare 2 minutes to answer these.
