Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, New York, Selects the Medworxx
Patient Flow Solution for Operational Use
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today,
Medworxx Solutions Inc. ("Medworxx") (TSX
VENTURE: MWX) announced the company has
licensed its Patient Flow Platform to Crouse
Hospital ("Crouse"), an acute care provider with
more than 500 beds, serving Central and
Northern New York. Crouse has licensed the Medworxx Clinical Criteria module to deliver necessary
improvements in patient throughput to continue their delivery of high quality care. The decision to
invest in the Clinical Criteria module followed the delivery of the Medworxx Patient Throughput
Review.
Medworxx will interface with the existing Siemens Soarian EHR to support clinical workflow. The
Clinical Criteria module is designed to provide advanced patient flow analytics in real-time. The
derived analytics can be shared across the organization to provide Crouse care coordinators, case
managers and multi-disciplinary team with a system to organize and prioritize patient flow across
the hospital. The Medworxx Clinical Criteria module will enable the hospital to identify, in real-time,
the clinical appropriateness of each patient's level of care (and whether it's appropriate to their
clinical needs), each day, and will provide clinicians with the ability to match patients with the right
level of care, at the right time and in the most appropriate setting.
"Crouse Hospital recognized a need to understand our barriers to optimal patient throughput and
make that information transparent to the entire organization on a real-time basis. Prior to selecting
Medworxx, the information associated with our Utilization Management process and bed placement
procedures was not easily accessible by the organization as a whole. Medworxx will allow us to
understand and act on patient flow barriers as they occur to enhance the timeliness of discharge and
create viable solutions to eliminate identifiable causes of avoidable delays in hospital services," said
Barbara Drapola, Director of Care Coordination Services.
"It is gratifying to us that Crouse has invested in our patient flow platform to support their case
management and care coordination programs in order to improve patient throughput and flow. We
know that managing patient flow more effectively will lead to the continued high quality of care and
access to care that Crouse is committed to. The partnership with Crouse is further evidence of the
opportunity for Medworxx in the US as our customer base there begins to grow," said Niels Tofting,
SVP, Business Development, Medworxx.
