get a clear picture that the genre Adventure is the best selling taking in a $46
billion between the years of 1995 and 2017. Also the source shows that this genre
also produced 720 movies.
Thriller/suspense released a total of 920 movies between the years of 1995-2017
with a total box office of $17 billion. So although more thrillers were released, the
total gross income was significantly less than Adventure.
Multi-genre movies have only produced 33 movies and took in a total $23 million
within the same year gap. Their success rate of these movies follow the trend of the
more movies a company creates, the more total gross income they receive.
5. Romance
In 2013 there were 18 romance movies released. These made a total revenue of
£4,046,442 and contributed 0.5% to the total of box office figures. The top three
movies were: The Big Wedding, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Playing for Keeps.
In the following year there was an increase of movie releases under the romance
genre, 22. These 22 movies had an increase of genre gross income £4,759,995.
However, with this increase of sales, there was a decrease of how much it
contributed to the box office, 0.4%.

In 2013, there were 138 comedy movies released, this produced an revenue of
£168,871,509. They also produced 14.8% of the years box office figures. The top
three movies from this period were: The Hangover Part III, Anchorman 2, and
Grown ups 2
In the following year, 2014, there was a decrease in movie release, with only 124
movies released. However with this decrease in movies, there was a increase in
gross revenue £231,313,837 but also an increase in contribution to the box office:
21.6%. Top three movies of the period was: Inbetweeners 2, Paddington, and 22
Jump Street.

In 2013: Only 4 movies were released. Despite these low figures of releases, total
gross income collected was £26,737,004. This also contributed 2.5% to the total of
box office.

In 2014: An increase to 12 movies were released. The gross income was decreased
compared to the year before; £16,909,209. With this decrease in gross, leads to a
decrease in contribution with only 1.6%.
