Active Patients that are diabetics has options that can inform them of how to take care and manage their disease and how to take care of themselves and their family and the best way to do that. The way that our facility will market their services that will help the patients that need it but how will the people get the information that is needed. Television and Radio commercials to reach other consumers fliers will also be delivered by mail. Luvonne Ward
What are the implications of those methods of communication? Most of the methods can be effective if Know your audience, purpose, objections and all about the topic to help people you need to well-educated on the subject.

The best way and the most effective way to market is commutation if you do not know the best and effective way to target your information to the people who mostly need it than how will you help in any effective way.

The US Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, and the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, are to name a few government agencies that are in support of diabetes awareness, educational programs, preventives, diabetic products to improve lifestyle change, regulations, and support to the community.Government agencies are a great support and have a positive impact to the product of educational programs to the target audience of patients and caregivers alike. It is important for individuals who have been diagnosed with diabetes and their caregivers to know about these government agencies whom are trying to focus on living with diabetes or curing it. Government agencies attempt to communicate all avenues of care through their websites, symbolic ribbons and circle, and other symbols of support and awareness, seminars, forums and recognition programs. Vanessa Romero
Government agencies are also available to reinforce state laws, regulations and policies for diabetes care, Diabetes in the Workplace and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), driver exemption programs, and diabetes prevention recognition program standards and operating procedures. These regulations help protect individuals with diabetes and are provided by the American Diabetes Association, that offers students or kids to be able to be properly cared for at school, there are driver exemption programs offered through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for those who have diabetes and or vision disease in an attempt to avoid crashes, injury, and fatality with large truck and bus drivers, the diabetes in the workplace and the ADA are to protect those that do not have their endocrine functioning properly and falls under limited life activity, and lastly, the DPRP through the CDC offers how a lifestyle should be led to avoid type 2 diabetes, the National Prevention Diabetes Program, and how an organization can apply to have a lifestyle program with recognition. Vanessa Romero
What health care reform means for diabetics is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and the No cost Preventive Care. Both of these things are vital to the health and well being of all individuals who are dealing with diabetes. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was passed by congress in 2010 which enables more health care availability to Americans. This act will increase accessibility to health care for children and young adults who have diabetes type 1, and it also means that insurance companies can no longer deny coverage to children under 19 due to a pre-existing condition and the age to stay on parent’s insurance was extended to the age of 26. Insurance policies can no longer charge co pays to patients for preventive services which include diabetes tests, vision screening, and nutritional counseling which is part of the treatment and management of diabetes 1. Chain restaurants have to display nutrition information available for individuals who need to maintain their diet and blood levels, no more pre-existing condition denials, the elimination of benefit caps, and more affordable insurance for the middle class (Acosta Scott, 2015). Vanessa Romero
There are several other options available for patient to receive Diabetic Education. Other area hospitals offer diabetic education to patients. Some private providers offer educational courses to patients or refer them to community wellness centers for guidance.
With other options available, this will make it a little difficult to start up a new program. Instead of providing the diabetic education after discharge, Reid Memorial will provide inpatient diabetic education as well as out patient.

By using Fliers, Health Fairs and Commercials will allow us to reach our target audience near and fair. The use of commercials and fliers will allow patients who can't read the opportunity to have what we are offering explained to them.
